[Get The Look] Alternative To Christian Louboutin’s Rouge Louboutin Nail Art

| |
Hi Huneybees,

20 years ago, a red nail polish inspired the world famous, most coveted signature red sole stilettos. Christian Louboutin was instantly inspired by the cherry-red polish that his assistant was using and painted the bottoms of his prototype heels with the lacquer. And now, Christian Louboutin returns to nail colour, giving us the perfect Louboutin mani with the Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin nail lacquer.

It is a specially designed tool to help you paint on the underneath of your nails red with absolute precision. The polish comes in the classic Louboutin red and features a felt-tip-style applicator, which makes light work of painting this tricky area. From the inside of the towering seven-inch calligraphy-inspired cap peeks out a flash of red - an echo of the color of the iconic sole. It is modeled after the heel of the Ballerina ULTIMA, the highest heel Christian Louboutin ever designed, and perfectly weighted to ensure the utmost ergonomic comfort and control.

But, not everyone could lay their hands on this amazing tool and here's a fuss-free way of getting the same Loutboutin mani done. Ready?

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Red nail polish
  • Black nail polish
  • Scotchtape

Step 1
Turn your hand over so the palm is facing up. Place strips of about 3cm scotchtape along your nails, going as close to the nails as possible.

Step 2
Once you have taped all 5 fingers,  paint a thin layer of base coat to the underside of your nail tips (this is so that the red nail polish does not stain your nails). Let it dry and apply 2 coats of red polish on each finger.

I've used the OPI Over & Over A-Gwen nail polish as I prefer the flat brush for easy application. Be sure to let each layer dry, before applying a new layer. Then, seal it with a thin layer of top coat.

Step 3

Once done and dried, peel off the tapes and turn your hands over to paint your nails in black. Don't forget a layer of base coat before proceeding with the 2 layers of black nail polish and seal with top coat.

So, there you have it, easy peasy way to get yourself the Louboutin nails eh? It works even better if you have longer nails and work it like Adele

You can also play with different colours like beige or cream polish to replicate the brand's trendy nude pumps. Have fun and go "strut" those nails!
