Singapore's Pop Icon - Kit Chan to Celebrate 30th Anniversary With “Little Things” Concert This September

Hi Huneybees,

Kit Chan, Singapore’s very own national pop icon will be celebrating her 30th anniversary as a singer with a three-night concert titled 'Little Things - Kit Chan 30th Anniversary Concert' at Sands Theatre from 8 to 10 September 2023.

Presented by Base Entertainment Asia, the 'Little Things - Kit Chan 30th Anniversary Concert' with Kit herself overseeing the creative direction, will include a set list with fan favourites, songs that have never been performed at her concerts before, as well as the first live rendition of Kit’s 30th-anniversary song, specially written for her by long-time friend and music collaborator Tom Pan 潘协庆, among other surprises for the night.
“When I first thought about 30th anniversary, it sounded like such a big thing and everyone wanted to know, ‘What are your thoughts, what are your perspectives after being in this business for 30 years?’, and I realised it was really all the little things that mattered, that kind of led me to this point, and not like, big milestones.” --- Kit Chan, when asked about naming her concert 'Little Things'.
Another reason for this theme goes back to her childhood, to a song she sang in the school choir. The title of the song is a blurry memory now but it was about all the “meaningless little things” in life that make up life itself.

“Even though I was only 11-years-old, I don’t know why I was very taken by this song. I have always been a magpie and am the kind of person who would keep a box with mementos, old photos, little knick-knacks, handwritten notes and cards I can never let go of. These meaningless things, they’re actually very meaningful to me. They speak of experiences lived and shared, and memories made over time.”
Leading the band for this concert is Music Director Bang Wenfu, who has worked with Kit on many projects including studio albums and singles, Kit’s 25th-anniversary concert “25 Years On A Time For Everything” in 2018, “Reignite – Kit Chan ‘Live’ in Concert” in 2021 and also on the Chinese reality singing competition show “I Am A Singer”. Outfits will be designed by Paris-based Singaporean designer Andrew Gn.

Ready to Twist Your View of Reality With Consentino?

Hi Huneybees,

Cosentino : Decennium - The Greatest Live
Magic Show is presented by Base Entertainment Asia.

ConsentinoAustralia’s most successful magician, illusionist, and escape artist, is coming back to Singapore from 24 August to 3 September 2023 at Sands Theatre. Presented by Base Entertainment Asia, the leading live entertainment company in Asia Pacific and exclusive manager of Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands, Cosentino: Decennium - The Greatest Live Magic Show will celebrate his 10 years of global success.

In the 10 years since Cosentino became an overnight sensation on Australia’s Got Talent, he has gone on to become a genuine superstar on the global stage. I watched his performance up front back in 2017 and it was spectacular. Every performance was flawless and with that element of danger and surprise, he had the audience gaping in awe. Now that he is back, I would say, do not miss.

Decennium is a 90-minute stage spectacular, which was written, produced, and choreographed by
Cosentino himself with memorable acts like Stabbed, Stranger Things, and Flaming Jaws. One that had an impression on me was Flaming Jaws.

Cosentino was the 1st in the world to do this demonstration and the pioneer of the escape. ‘Flaming Jaws' takes death-defying escapes to a whole new level where Cosentino is placed and shackled inside a regulation straitjacket, then attached upside down by his ankle's underneath to the Jaws and hoisted into the air. The enormous set of steel jaws is held open by a single rope and set alight. Once the rope snaps the the steel jaws will come crashing down destroying anything or anyone that gets in its path.

Cosentino is now in a race to save his own life, he has 90 seconds to successfully escape the straitjacket,
release himself from the burning rope and drop to the ground before the crushing force of the
sharp-teethed jaws come crashing together in the ultimate climax.

Cosentino: Decennium - The Greatest Live Magic Show

Performance Season - 19 October to 5 November 2023
Venue - Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands
Duration - 75 minutes with 20 minutes of intermission
Performance Times (Singapore Time)
Thursdays to Fridays; 8pm,
Saturdays; 2pm & 8pm
Sundays; 12pm & 6pm

Tickets are now on-sale at Marina Bay Sands Ticketing and SISTIC and range between SGD$58 to SGD$168, excluding booking fees. You can get them here - https://www.marinabaysands.com/entertainment/shows/cosentino-decennium.html

Celebrating Mother's Day at Tulipmania @ Gardens by the Bay

Hi Huneybees,

By the time this article is out, the event -Tulipmania 2023 might be over already. I'm sharing this post for keepsakes and also a reminder to all to spend more time with your loved ones.

It's been a while since I took a nature walk and the other day, we dated my mum who's a huge fan of flowers to go to Gardens by the Bay to check out the beautiful tulips from Turkey. As we strolled, we chatted about the times when we travelled together to New Zealand and Australia when I was still a kid.

Bringing back those memories and comparing my mum now,  caught onto my heartstrings a little. As we grew up, everyone had their own agendas and the family seems to be spending less time with each other. Back then, we could climb ice glaciers, walk through forests, but now both my parents had leg issues, walking at such slow pace, got me thinking time is short, how much more time do we have with each other?

That's why I love going everywhere taking photos, not for social media postings but to keep these memories forever locked in this "time capsule" so that everyone in the family can view too!

Have you been to the Gardens by the Bay before? Seeing all the beautiful brightly coloured florals and soaking in the sun simply makes one so much more refreshed and comfortable. It's nice to take a break sometimes, away from all the phone scrolling, and spend quality time with friends and family. You guys should give it a try too!

Ok! gona spam a few more pics before I'm off to bed ~~~

Shining the Spotlight on National Women's Checkup Week (8-14 May) this Mother's Day

| |
0 comments
Hi Huneybees,

Are you still wondering what gifts to get for Mother's Day? Instead of a materialistic gift, why not gift the gift of health? Mums play lots of roles in their lives, caring for their loved ones, and tend to forget about themselves. It's time to shine the spotlight on them so that we can all enjoy a better and longer time with Mummy dearest. A mother’s love should not come at the cost of her health.

Singapore will be commemorating its first-ever National Women's Checkup Week (8-14 May) in collaboration with the Singapore Cancer Society. The week is dedicated to reminding women of all ages to prioritize their health by scheduling regular checkup appointments with their healthcare providers.

This is an increasingly important topic to discuss as many women, mothers in particular, deprioritize their health for their loved ones and according to recent research commissioned by Roche Diagnostics in Asia Pacific and conducted by Frontier View, 1 in 5 women felt strongly they have delayed or avoided medical treatment one or several times due to a family obligation.

It may be a little uncomfortable to get the topic started, but I think this is the best time to schedule body check-ups for the whole family and share the experience on your social media, spread the word, so more people can be aware. It's time for us ladies to take control of our health and well-being, get checked, and prevent potential health issues before they become more serious. Love yourself before you can take care of others... 😘

You can also learn more about Roche's commitment to Women's health here - https://www.roche.com/xproject/.
