Satisfying My Cravings At Home With 8 Crabs Singapore

Hi Huneybees,

CRABS! Thinking about those juicy big claws is making me drool again! "I love big crabs and I cannot lie ~~~"  It's my guilty pleasure when it comes to crabs; I can go on and on gorging on them, knowing that they are low in fat and high in proteins and vitamins, making great substitute to meats.

Those big juicy claw meat are what I always go for, but cracking those shells and digging in for the meat, simply makes me feel shy dining out, whilst everyone looks on as I gorge and "work" my way through my meal.

That's why I prefer to have my crab cravings satisfied at home, where I can truly enjoy the crab servings to the fullest and don't have to worry about getting unglam shots taken. Staying at home during this Circuit Breaker has introduced me to a lot of local stalls and restaurants that I did not know, and a lot of them had to turn to food delivery during this period.

It was heavenly news when I heard of 8 Crabs Seafood Restaurant and I immediately made my order online, hoping to surprise hubby and get a day off cooking dinner. 8 Crabs are the only company in Singapore that does crab and seafood delivery using grade AAA premium Sri Lankan sourced wild crabs. Sri Lankan crabs are known to be meatier, tastier, bigger, and less watery, and to ensure freshness, these crabs are caught, flown, prepared, and delivered to their customers within 12 hours.

Making the order online is easy peasy and if you have any queries, you can always contact Natasha via the website or Whatsapp with the contact number provided. I ordered 2 types of crabs  - Black Pepper Crab and Salted Egg Crab, both in large size (there are 3 sizes to choose from). They both come nicely packed in a plastic lunchbox, warm and nicely cracked up. It was so easy to get into the flesh, we didn't even need to use the crab mallet.

I can't really take spicy food and thought the Salted Egg version is something different from what other restaurants offer. I must say I have a new love, as the salted egg adds a little local flavour to the big chunky meats, letting me enjoy the dish without having to cry for water every few minutes.

Black Pepper was ordered intendedly for hubby as he likes his spice. At first, I was afraid it would be too spicy, so I just tasted a small little leg portion. But I found myself unable to stop, "sucking" off the meat and even scooping the sauce for more!

We had a competition in mind, seeing who can finish their crabs faster, but we ended up sharing the crabs and was left craving for more. I should have ordered more or bigger crabs ~~~ 😭😭😭

Of course, other than crabs, 8 Crabs Seafood Restaurant also offers other Zi Char dishes for you to enjoy and pair the crab dishes with. I'm definitely gonna be getting my second order and share with my family members too. You can make your order via https://www.8crabs.com/

Cheers to good food and don't forget to stay safe during this Covid-19 period!

My Digital Shilin Market 2020 Experience

Hi Huneybees,

Missy Coronavirus has made traveling overseas restricted and I was craving for a Taiwanese fix, that's why last Friday, I was on standby mode waiting for Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 to "open up" at 3pm.

Being stuck at home since the start of Circuit Breaker, this event has been on top of my radar as I was super curious about how this digital night market experience would be like.

Kudos to Invade.co in making the whole Night Market a digital experience in such short notice, I can only say it was a somewhat satisfying as there were some disappointments for me since I didn't manage to fulfill everything on my 'wishlist' at this digital event.

The Shilin Market is split into 4 virtual zones - there are things to eat, things to buy, and also entertainment and games to keep you occupied and spend the weekend in songs and workshops.

I started first with the 'PLAY' section as I expect there would be some digital flash arcade games like shooting balloons or throwing darts. Regrettably, it wasn't the way I expected it to be as I felt the section was more like promotional games for SingTel GoMo and Bubble Tea Factory.
The consolation was I won myself a plushie from the 'Lost in Shilin' game and I am currently waiting to be contacted for the collection.

And in case if you are interested in getting a new mobile plan, check out the promo code above.

My favourite zone was the 'SHOP' zone, who can resist shopping right? Especially when you can do all of it from the comfort of your sofa, scrolling, clicking and checking out with your credit cards!

There are several local brands that are supported by Shopee featuring handiworks like accessories, customer made pouches, Taiwan snacks, and even virus-be-gone products. But my focus was on those Taiwan exclusives products that you can get via iCarry.

Not only did I find a new shopping platform, but I also managed to buy those Taiwanese snacks and souvenirs that I've been craving for. I've bought several items and it's already been a week, I'm still on pending delivery, I'll share again when I receive them. iCarry even has Japanese products too, but I'll explore that another time.

'EAT' Zone was my most anticipated one, yet it was also the most disappointing one for me. The selection of Taiwanese food was pretty minimal and not all of them delivers to my place here in Yishun. After so long, I thought my bubble tea craving could be satisfied with "Playmade by 丸作", only to find out that they don't even deliver to my area ~~~

In the end, I didn't get to buy any food for the delivery charge was a little too much too. Each stall had their own minimum target amount to hit before they would deliver and on top of that, delivery charge was $10 EACH STALL!

Which means, if I wanted Pancakes from Taiwan Waffles, Iberico Pork Lu Rou Fan from The Masses and Sandwiches from Egg Stop, my delivery charge alone would already be $30! It was a little costly, I really envy those who managed to get to have cheaper delivery charges. Should I try ordering from a stall this weekend? Just to satisfy my taste buds?? What you think?

Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 will be back again this weekend June 19 to 21; and under the ‘FUN’ Zone, you can look forward to Cooking Segments by Aaron Wong, Home Workouts with Jamie Teo, alongside song performance by Circo, The Moonhouse, etc.

😊😊😊😊😊😊

I know today marks the opening of Phase 2 of Singapore's post-circuit breaker (Congratulations everyone!), but please don't all rush out immediately. If not needed, why not stay home and check out the Digital Shilin Singapore 2020. Stay safe my Huneybees!

Stay Safe With MELILEA ECO MIND Hand Sanitizer

Hi Huneybees,

It's a crucial time and seems like everyone's stacking up on their stocks of sanitizing products. Though we are progressively reopening from Circuit Breaker, it is best to remain vigilant and maintain our hand hygiene. This includes frequent handwashing or frequent use of alcohol-based hand rubs.

Recently, I was introduced to a brand of Hand Sanitizer - MELILEA ECO MIND. Their sanitizers were first commissioned by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and Endorsed by the Ministry of Health Malaysia to promote hand hygiene for primary school children in Malaysia, therefore the cute cartoon labels.

The hand sanitizers come in 5 lovely aromas, 30ml each: Lavender (Bear), Strawberry (Rabbit), Peach Apricot (Giraffe), Peppermint (Lion), and Green Tea (Cat). They are all suitable for adults and kids, containing 60% alcohol with 95% purity as according to United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC). It EFFECTIVELY KILLS 99.99% GERMS AND BACTERIA

My favourite aromas are Green Tea - which gives off a subtle baby powder kind of fragrance and also the Peppermint one that's refreshing and seems to leave a cooler feeling to the skin (is that my illusion?). The gel formula gets absorbed easily, is very gentle on the skin, does not leave a sticky feeling and so far, my sensitive skin is fine using it.

How to use
1. Squeeze an adequate amount of MELILEA ECO MIND Hand Sanitizer on your palm.
2. Rub hands together; palm to palm.
3. Rub the back of each hand with the palm and fingers of the other hand.
4. Rub around each thumb clasped in the opposite hand.
5. Rub the fingertips of each hand backward and forward in the opposite hand.
6. Rotational rubbing of right thumb wrist and vice versa.

Where to Purchase

Forever Young Enterprise (S) Pte Ltd is the authorized distributor for MELILEA ECO MIND Hand Sanitizer in Singapore. You can purchase them at Foreveryoung.com.sg, Lazada, Qoo10, and Shopee. Also be available in EAMART, Amazon.sg, healthstore.sg in the near future.
