Hi Huneybees,

Singapore International Jazz Festival 2015, or SingJazz2015 in short, returns this year after a stunning debut last year and Huney'Z World is privileged to be back to cover this 'jazz-inspired music' festival, which promised to be even better with a stunning line-up, from Funk legend Chaka Khan, Grammy Award winner Chris Botti, International Chart topper Jessie J, Malaysian singer Yuna to our very own Jeremy Monteiro!

There is no better way to kick start the whole festive mode than to experience first hand, a breath-taking preview by Melissa Tham at the pre-event press conference held earlier this week.

Conferred the Sing Jazz Emerging Jazz Vocalist of the Year award at the SingJazz2015 Gala Night, held that evening, this petite Singaporean Jazz singer with a big voice (check her out at shared about her journey in the music industry.

"I get a lot of influences from music that is not in the jazz genre too, so I'm glad that I'm able to get inspiration from all of them. Of course, just like every job, this is not smooth-sailing. Sometimes you have ups and sometimes you have downs. The ups are really, really good and the downs you just have to figure out and pull yourself out of the well if this is what you want to do. Just keep doing it."

Also present at the press conference was Sing Jazz Academy director Chok Kerong, who gave us more insight into the activities organized this SingJazz2015 weekend by Sing Jazz Academy, the educational and community outreach arm of the Sing Jazz Festival.

Before I sign-off, here's the location & schedule for SingJazz2015, a rain-or-shine event.
