Hi Huneybees,

It's 2pm in the afternoon and the sun was high up in the sky, what better than to head on board a yacht and chill out with an amazing bottle of chilled Guinness Stout?!

Let's go!
Yes! I was given a treat at the GUINNESS ARTHUR’S DAY press launch, whisked away at  ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove for a trip out to sea in the middle of the day while we got all the great news about the upcoming Arthur's Day.

The yacht was previously owned by Jack Nicklausnicknamed "The Golden Bear", is an American professional golfer. He is widely regarded as the most accomplished professional golfer of all time, winning a total of 18 career major championships.

The luxury yacht - Sea Bear is a floating museum, which houses 36 unique pieces hand-selected by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus from the Jack Nicklaus Museum in Columbus, Ohio, as well as items personally donated from their home collection.

It's definitely a delight to be one such a luxurious ride...

Kui Jien, the Senior Brand Manager for Guinness briefing us about what to expect at this year's Guinness Arthur's Day.
OK. Now on to the main business. Guinness Arthur’s Day (Set up in 2009 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the original lease at St. James’s Gate, Dublin – the home of GUINNESS) will be celebrated with the concert being held as the highlight event on 27th September 2013.

GUINNESS is seeking 1,759 fans for a bold night out with U.S. stars, THE FRAY, in what promises to be one of the highlights of the live music calendar in Singapore.

Fans can win tickets to the gig by stepping up to challenges. Arthur’s Day 2013 will truly be a ‘money-can’t-buy’ experience which will take place in a unique, purpose-built venue. Unlike most music events, tickets to this year’s Arthur’s Day concert will not be available for sale. Instead, only 1,759 exclusive tickets will be given out to fans and consumers who step up to the challenge through three ‘Acts of Boldness’ activations around Singapore in August which will be revealed on Guinness’ Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Guinness.SG).

For the digitally-savvy, a special Arthur’s Day Facebook application will be the hub for entries where only the boldest fans will be awarded tickets to the most exclusive entertainment event of the year.

“From start to finish, GUINNESS Singapore is adopting a novel approach to celebrate the pioneering spirit of Arthur Guinness, promising fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they can win tickets to. With only 1,759 tickets up for grabs, fans will have to earn their coveted passes by proving they are made of more, unlike any other music event held here. With a brilliant line-up of local bands also vying for a spot to ‘Play on the Day’ and open for The Fray, Guinness Arthur’s Day promises to be a remarkable experience to mark in your calendars!” --- Mr Rene de Monchy, Head of Marketing, Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore
 Play on the Day
As an impassioned and committed supporter of live music in Singapore, GUINNESS is giving one talented local band the opportunity of a lifetime to open for The Fray, an experience for the emerging talents to cherish as they share the stage with industry veterans. To participate, local bands (with all members aged 18 and above) are invited to submit a YouTube video link of themselves performing, in a private message to the GUINNESS Singapore Facebook page by 17 August 2013. Shortlisted bands will then move on to the ‘Play on the Day’ round – a battle of the bands event held at four locations around the island, from 7pm to 9pm on:

20 August 2013: Switch (73 Bras Basah Road, #01-01/02, Singapore 189556)
27 August 2013: Timbre @ Gillman (9A Lock Road, Gillman Barracks, Singapore 108926)
3 September 2013: Timbre @ The Substation (45 Armenian Street, Singapore 179936)
10 September 2013: Timbre @ The Arts House (1 Old Parliament Lane #01-04, Singapore 179429)

The winner will be selected by The Fray themselves after finalists are whittled down by a judging panel and a public vote, leveraging the support of the huge number of live music fans across Singapore. All competing bands will receive tickets to the concert, and the top performer from each venue will win a cash prize of S$1,000. The winning band, selected by The Fray, will receive a further S$2,000, and of course open for one of the biggest bands this decade!

So, where will this concert be? Well, it's a secret, right up till the day before the concert. But what I can tell you is, the venue is somewhere amidst the pictures below. It will be housed in a purpose built,
air-conditioned setup with amazing views of the luminous city at night

Upping the novelty factor a notch higher, a Singapore-centered GUINNESS Heritage Collection will be exhibited, allowing concert-goers to view memorabilia of time past. Steeped in the pages of Singapore’s rich history, the selection of memorabilia showcases GUINNESS’ 144-year long legacy in the country, which continues to this day.

So, are you all set for THE FRAY? Be sure to check on Guinness’ Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Guinness.SG). Good Luck and see ya there!

Here’s to those who make great things happen!
