LEGOLAND Star Wars Day 2013

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Last weekend, Hubby and I went to LEGOLAND Malaysia for their LEGO Star Wars Day. Being hardcore Star Wars fans (you should see the collection we have at home), how can we miss it?!

Let us in!!!

The weather was warm, but I knew I had to wear my Empire Strikes Back T-shirt. See the Force was strong with me! The moment I stepped into Legoland, a Clone Trooper already came and greeted me! Excitement! Now, where's my Skywalker???

There were several events happening on that day and one of them was the LEGO Star Wars Mystery mural. Once we register, we were asked to choose a square base where we work on it, piecing the right coloured LEGO bricks on the board and return back to the staff.

What happens is that every little square is place on this huge mural board where it will be completed to show a mystery picture and from here, it seems like a Yoda is coming up. Wonder how to full picture looked like? When I left it was like 80% completed only...

Actually, the reason for LEGO Star Wars Day is because there's a new addition to the MINILAND. There's been a new gateway to the parallel universe and there housed the first ever LEGO Star Wars Miniland Death Star Model.

It is built by the LEGO Master Model Builders from LEGOLAND using more than 750,000 LEGO bricks and 10,000 special glow-in-the-dark tiles, weighing about 800kg and measuring 2m wides, 6m tall. This is the first time a LEGO Death Star model of this scale has been constructed, making it the largest in the world!!!

Hubby and I even got the chance to pose under the Death Star with some Star Wars cosplayers!

Under the Death Star are also some LEGO created Star Wars classic scenes. How I wish, I'm LEGO sized, so that I can fit into those fighters and enjoy my JEDI moments! Here is the Death Star Trench Run scene, where you can find Luke's X-Wing being pursued by TIE Fighters whilst he tries to blow up the Death Star.

Here's the interesting one where Luke and Han Solo attempted to save Princess Leia and got trapped in a garbage dump whilst escaping. The walls are closing in, the creature is attacking, can C3P0 and R2D2 save them???

There's also the scene where Darth Vadar fought against Obi-Wan Kenobi, when Obi shut down the Death Star's Tractor Beam. The model really fights once the button next to it is pressed. *Reliving Star Wars moment....

These 2 scenes were taken from the part where Princess Leia went to Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin telling them the location of the Rebel's base in the hope of saving Alderaan. And the next is the Imperial Troopers in the control room of Death Star's superlaser.

The last one has got to be the classic of all classic Star Wars scene. The one where Darth reveals to Luke that he is his father. Luke refuses to turn to the Dark Side and The Emperor has been electric shocking him to torture him...

Ok! Off to the next location.  Wana see some LIVE Jedi action? Come join me at the LEGO City Stage!

Not only was there some Jedi and Sith fighting scenes, some young Padwan-s were chosen to practice on the spot and fend off Sith-s themselves. Check out these 3 boys that came in their own uniforms! Aren't they some handsome Jedi-s?

Thank you Young Padwan-s for saving us!

Another activity was to build us some huge models of Darth Vader and R2D2. It takes a long time a whole village to finish them up. but it was fun to be playing with kids and snapping pictures in the air conditioned rooms...

That's some heavy weight lifting!
Last but not least, we headed into LEGO Studio to catch a animation called The Empire Strikes Out. It was adorable and some modern jokes where injected into the film. Kids were all tickled pink and after which, we went to the temporary retail store to check out some LEGO Star Wars products....

Which ones have you got?
And since we were there, we caught up with some new additions to LEGOLAND Malaysia as well as some rides that we missed the other time.

The new Ribena mascot!

This is the Dino Island ride. The other time we came, it was closed for maintenance and now we finally got the chance! It's a scary ride where you end up totally wet when the canoe falls from a height!
Wana see more of the rides in LEGOLAND? Check out my blog post here.

Do lookout for more updates as the LEGOLAND Water Park and Hotel opens in October 2013!
