Irene Ang hosted the "Born a Hero" event at TANGS

Irene Ang (who played the popular role of “mother of Ken Chow” in the Ah Boys to Men movies), was spotted hosting the Born a Hero (BAH) celebratory event on 1st July at TANGS at Tang Plaza.

Host, Irene Ang facilitating the Born a Hero panel discussion at the finale event at Tangs@TANG Plaza, featuring Co-Founder of Material World Singapore, alongside three ladies who have each contributed toward Singapore’s defence.
Also at the event were Deborah Tan, Co-Founder of Material World, who initiated the Born a Hero Project, Judy Kong a veteran who volunteered with the Singapore Women’s Auxiliary Naval Service (SWANS), Setoh Wei Leng Born a Hero personality who provided her significant other with moral support as he went through National Service, and Priya Shahane Chief HR Officer with AXA Singapore.


Sponsored by AXA Singapore, Born a Hero (BAH) is a ground-up project by women’s portal, Material World Singapore. Organized as part of the commemoration for the SAF’s 50th anniversary (SAF50), BAH celebrated the unsung heroes behind Singapore’s defence by telling stories of ordinary women who have contributed to the success of the SAF in their own ways.



 
At the event, participants were treated to exclusive discounts and deals – including a $10 TANGS voucher (no minimum spend) for the first 800 registered participants who turned up at the event.
