Hi Huneybees,
With demand for one-of-a-kind furniture and furnishings on the upward swing, Singapore is now home to a very different design concept showroom – In Situ Design. Situated at 238 River Valley Road, In Situ features creative concepts by talented international designers and artists.
In Situ (the brainchild of Creative Director, Isabelle Persenda) is a chic and eclectic artistic design & concept store showcasing handcrafted pieces, including furniture, decorations, antiques, soft furnishings and art pieces. The showroom embodies a style of living, inspired by Isabelle herself, with a striking interior design and a warm, soulful ambience. The bespoke fittings complete the scene and highlight the creative collection.
“We endeavour to introduce the creativity of these talented and independent designers and artists. We are confident that their authentic one-of-a-kind pieces will be the new toast of the artistic world. It is my privilege to present the imaginative works of these designers and artists to the Asia-Pacific region; works which are innovative and unusual, all the while displaying boldness and an innate streak of madness.” --- Isabelle Persenda
The 1,400 ft2 showroom displays the impressive works of such celebrated names as Eric Ledoigt (France); Carl J Myers and Laurel Jacobson (USA); Manuel Morquecho (Mexico); to name only a few. It offers a distinctive collection, from hand-carved tables made of Conacaste (South American tropical wood), to handmade Mahogany dinnerware and Mangrove lamps, all the way from the Manglares – America’s only authorised sustainable mangrove farm.
Key items in the collection include sofas, armchairs, coffee tables, consoles and a limited collection of antique pieces, striking the ideal balance between modern and vintage. In Situ also features bedspreads and bed covers, soft furnishings and tablemats – all handmade, handcrafted or hand-woven on loom from 100% cotton, as well as coasters, wall ornaments and gold-leaf items. In Situalso provides personalised home interior design consultancy services to help their clients to visualise, choose and create their desired habitats.
In Situ’s Guatemalan team of 12 is made up of architects, interior and industrial designers, many of whom have worked with hotels, restaurants and residential complexes, bringing authentic Guatemalan craftsmanship to the vast majority of In Situ Design’scollection.
