Hi Huneybees,
Micro Piezo is a high performance inkjet printing technology that uses piezoelectric materials which bend precisely when charged with varying electric currents to propel precise amounts of ink out of the print head. Today, Epson is the only major printer company in the world that uses piezoelectric print heads in its entire inkjet printer range – from the smallest personal photo printer, to the largest industrial press system.
Epson,
the
world’s first, and to date, only major printer maker offering ink
tank system printers, has introduced its L-series printers to offer
customers even more choices in terms of speed and reliability.
Sporting seven models, this new series helps customers reduce
operating costs with the world’s lowest printing cost of any
printer using genuine Epson ink bottles supplies.
Designed
to empower users to print freely without worrying about running
costs, productivity and warranty issues, the L-series printers also
provide corporate users the opportunity to switch from using laser or
dot matrix printers to the highly affordable L-series ink tank system
printers.
At the launch party, we were treated to a spectacular visual light show right before the revelation of the L-Series Printers.
So, how can the L-series printers be so affordable?
4,000 pages of printing at only $9.90! Such great deals right??? |
Well, with the Micro
Piezo Technology, that was developed by Epson 20 years ago!
Managing Director of Epson Southeast Asia - Mr. Koich Endo presenting to us about Micro Piezo technology and their printers through the years. |
Epson’s Micro Piezo printers enjoy the following three significant
advantages over thermal inkjet printers:
- Improved printing quality and precision due to their ability to eject ink droplets in varying sizes.
- Lower operating temperature that makes them more power efficient and allows them to use a wider range of inks, and on a wider range of media.
- Higher reliability that allows Epson to build its print heads into its printers, instead of cartridges. This makes the cartridges cheaper to produce, more affordable to buy, and easier to recycle. This high reliability also enables Epson to make ink tank system printers that offer incredibly high volume printing and which can be simply refilled by ink bottles.
