Hi Huneybees,

Remember the cancellation of the Tiger Street Football that was due to the bad haze conditions? Well, it's back!
The Tiger Street Football returns to the streets of Singapore on 18 and 19 October 2013 and promises a competition that reflects the flair, skills and diverse styles associated with 5-a-side street football. To be held at Event Plaza@Marina Bay Sands, Tiger Street Football Singapore is set to thrill local football fans with a showcase of the best street football action from local and international teams.
Presented by internationally acclaimed Tiger Beer and organised in partnership with FOX International Channels and SPORTFIVE Asia, the highly anticipated tournament aims to elevate the level of play and passion for football on the streets of Singapore.
This year, the tournament will see legendary Italian superstar Fabio Cannavaro coming on-board as the official Tournament Ambassador. Cannavaro led Italy to its first World Cup in 24 years and won the prestigious FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or in 2006. Having played for the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, Cannavaro has travelled to Cambodia, Australia, Malaysia, Mongolia and China as the tournament ambassador for Tiger Street Football 2013.
“Since the inaugural Tiger Street Football tournament in 2011, Singaporeans have clearly shown their passion for street football through an overwhelming support for local teams who battled their hearts out for the opportunity and honour to represent the nation on a regional level. We are very excited to be hosting this year’s tournament at Marina Bay Sands against the backdrop of the amazing Singapore city skyline as it takes our commitment to bringing a unique flavour of the best ‘live’ street football action to a whole new level.” --- Mr Rene de Monchy, Head of Marketing, Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore.
Tiger Street Football’s brand of intense and innovative non-stop action will be on full display through the competition’s fast-paced six-minute halves in a unique oval caged, hard-court pitch with no side-lines. The dynamic, five-a-side game play will provide a refreshing platform for players to showcase their talent, while developing their skills in competitive street football.
Tiger Street Football Format
The tournament in Singapore will feature 32 local teams battling it out in the National Finals on Friday, 18 October, for cash prizes of USD3, 000 and USD1, 500 awarded to the first and second placed teams respectively. The champions of Friday’s competition will automatically qualify for the Grand Finals to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 9 November.
The top two local teams from the National Finals will also get the opportunity to play against international teams from Italy, Germany, Malaysia and Vietnam on Saturday, 19 October for a chance to win additional cash prizes of USD5,000, USD2,500 and USD1,000 for first, second and third place respectively.
Play alongside a World Cup Star
For the first time in Tiger Street Football Singapore, fans can win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play alongside the tournament ambassador, Fabio Cannavaro, at the National Finals on 18 October.
To qualify, fans above 18 years old simply need to send a photo of themselves performing a football skill to sgtigerbeer@gmail.com before midnight of 14 October with their name, NRIC and contact number.
Selected by Fabio Cannavaro, the images will go through a voting process on Tiger Beer's Facebook page where the submission with the most “likes” and “shares” will don on the same jersey as the World Cup winner and play alongside Fabio.
Tiger Street Football Activities
During the tournament, spectators will be treated to a host of activities, including special dance routines by the Tiger Cage Girls and freestyle football performances by four-time world record holder, Laura Biondo.

Tiger Street Football Singapore is the sixth stop of the tournament. This year’s tournament has seen an increase in the level of participation in the region due to the introduction of three additional stops in Cambodia, Australia and Mongolia.
