You can choose to indulge in some delightful Fun & Flirty Cocktails at 1864 between February 1 and 14, 2024 or alternatively, treat yourself to a luxurious overnight retreat with their Celebrate Love the French Way room package, available now through December 31, 2024. The choice is yours to make your moments extra special!



A Table for One at Racines


Racines presents a delectable five-course menu that melds French techniques with sustainably sourced

ingredients for a luxurious dining experience. The dinner begins with an amuse bouche of Crispy Duck Rillettes Croquette, featuring a 12-hour sous vide French Magret Duck, shredded and made into croquette, and served with a smoky, tangy and sweet piquillo pepper sauce. Next, indulge in a light appetiser to stimulate the appetite – Hamachi & Salmon Carpaccio, where fresh fish is lightly seasoned with sea salt and toasted sesame oil, arranged on a bed of dill oil and Packham pear vinaigrette, topped with crisp ginger and Avruga caviar. Follow up with the warming Jerusalem Artichoke Velouté, drizzled with hazelnut beurre noisette, and served with truffle shavings and a truffle brioche toast. 


For mains, choose between Roasted Lamb Saddle, a juicy, flavourful cut cooked on the bone with macerated cherries, or Pan Fried Sustainable Threadfin Fillet, made using the coveted, buttery soft fourfinger threadfin and served with aromatic honey-roasted salsify in lemon caper sauce. 


Conclude the meal on a sweet note with a gorgeous rose-shaped Raspberry Chocolate Chantilly filled with luscious Valrhona Guanaja 70% dark chocolate, chocolate almond crumble, hazelnut nougatine and raspberry crémeux.

For the month of amour in February, dazzle beloved ones with a selection of playful and flavourful drinks crafted for the occasion. With a limited-time menu from 1 to 14 February 2024 featuring two cocktails ($19++) and two mocktails ($12++), there is something exquisite for every palate. Set the mood with the Swooning Caprioska ($19++), an alluring libation that adds a romantic twist to the classic Caprioska, transforming it into a light and flirty cocktail. It is also infused with strawberry shrubs for an aphrodisiac touch. For those seeking a non-alcoholic alternative, In Your Fraise ($12++) is the perfect choice. This elixir is a sophisticated blend of Seedlip Grove 42, strawberry shrubs and citrus.

The *SCAPE Creative Arts Festival - comma, is set to make a grand return from January 12 to 28, 2024. During this period, it will highlight the exceptional talents of youth across various artistic disciplines. The festival's theme for this year, "Disruption," not only mirrors *SCAPE's physical evolution but also encapsulates its ethos, encouraging young artists to explore innovative approaches and involve audiences in their creative exploration.

The festival offers an immersive fusion of music, dance, visual arts, and interdisciplinary expressions. Standout events include Music Day Out on January 13 and 14, showcasing a diverse lineup of local and regional artists. Additionally, MOV:MENT Lab presents a screening of intricate dances and films inspired by movement.
 

Emphasising *SCAPE's role within the Somerset Belt, comma serves as a platform for up-and-coming youth talent, fostering mentorship and cross-disciplinary collaboration with industry stakeholders like RAW Moves (Contemporary Dance), World Supremacy Battlegrounds (street Dance), and Steady State Records (Music). 

Organized specifically to spotlight budding youth talent, comma sets itself apart by featuring a dynamic array of performances and exhibitions by young creators that celebrate youthful creativity while serving as a safe space for those who are interested in exploring and discovering new art disciplines and bridging different genres.

Jamela Law, a local visual artist, explores the boundaries in her exhibition titled "Scars, Skins, and Styles: Physical Transfigurations." Through Virtual Reality, it delves into mediation, introspection, and reinvention, providing a distinctive and immersive journey into the realms of healing and self-discovery. It brings attention to often overlooked subjects such as LGBTQ+, depression, and disability - topics that many tend to avoid or shy away from discussing openly.

Funded by the Community Arts Residency, this project strives to establish warm-hearted, celebratory, and inclusive networks that foster healing while bridging interpersonal distances, facilitating metamorphosis one step at a time. Jamela Law's dedication to initiating conversations about mental health and creating impactful art is clearly evident at the core of this endeavor.
