Hi Huneybees,
There's also a Magic Swivel that creates the illusion of a floating image. The integrated rollers deliver a swiveling function that makes the pedestal stand just as functional. The picturesque effect is accentuated by what LG refers to as a "vanished bezel", which gets as thin as 1mm for the LA8600 series.
Smart features, sharp picture quality, and sleek design, the 2013 CINEMA 3D Smart TV line-up from LG Electronics brings today’s sophisticated consumers a premium home entertainment world. Pushing the boundaries and always developing new innovations, the 2013 TV line-up is packed with new features that are designed with consumers’ savvy needs in mind, resulting in smart sharing of content, smart control of home entertainment system, and smart content that brings a smile to adults and children alike.
There are a total of seven series with most models featuring 3D and smart TV functions like content sharing with new NFC, Miracast and Cloud technologies. These functions supplement Intel's Wireless Display (WiDi) and Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), which were inherited from their predecessors.
New features
Smart Control
Inspired by consumer demand for a more comprehensive home entertainment system, LG has outfitted the latest Smart TV line-up with new smart applications and features. With user experience as a primary focus, LG enhanced its Magic Remote to make applications and features selection and usage faster, simpler and more enjoyable on a daily basis.
As a key pillar of the unparalleled user experience, the unique LG Magic Remote available with 2013 CINEMA 3D Smart TV optimizes content and menu navigation, allowing interaction to be as simple and intuitive as possible. On top of the control capabilities of earlier models –point and wheel, the latest Magic Remote Gesture Control allows users to change TV channel by drawing the channel number on the screen. If users find typing a hassle, they can use the Voice Search function available on Magic Remote to directly look for content on the TV including those on the internet. Motion Control is another smart control function, which enables users to control the TV with a bare hand and is a convenient substitute when the Magic Remote is out of reach. Users could adjust basic settings such as volume, channel, input source and power off.
Improved picture quality
A new dual-brightness enhancement film delivers up to 15 percent higher screen luminance compared to their older TVs. There's also a better local-dimming system used for the LA6620, LA7400 and LA8600, featuring more dimmable zones to output a higher contrast and deeper blacks.
Enhanced dual-core processors
These chips make the TVs more responsive and users can expect around 18 percent faster TV channel switching, as well as shorter photo loading times from USB storage devices as well as faster Web page rendering and better video-processing capabilities.
Time Machine II
You record up to 75 minutes of standard-definition TV programs (and 60 minutes for HD broadcasts) on the TV's 2GB of built-in memory. Connecting a USB storage device to the TV increases the overall video-recording duration and activates the time-shift function, too.
LG Cloud
Sharing content across different platforms is now possible with 5GB of Cloud-based storage. Accessing the uploaded photos, videos and music files is catered for through an LG Cloud app, which is available for smartphones, tablets, PCs and TVs. Access your files from any part of the world.
Onboard camera with dual microphones:
Found only in the LA8600 series, the pop-up camera provides both Skype and motion control support for users. Raising your hand displays an onscreen menu, while clenching it indicates selection. Some of the available controls include volume adjustments and channel toggling. For other models, a USB camera is required to add this functionality.
