Behind the Scenes of Singapore’s Property Hustle: What Really Happens Before You Get Your Keys

| |
Hi Huneybees,

If you’ve ever wondered what it really takes to thrive in Singapore’s fast-paced property market (beyond the glossy listings and perfectly staged homes), PropertyGuru’s new reality series - Home Run: Singapore, is about to spill the tea. And honestly? After watching what these agents go through… I’m not sure I’d survive past Episode 1.

Coming back this November with a refreshed format, bigger cast and tougher challenges, Home Run: Singapore transforms the everyday work of real estate agents into a high-stakes, reality-TV-style obstacle course. Let’s break down the madness.

Unpredictable Challenges That Would Make Anyone Sweat

Across five episodes, 14 real estate agents are thrown into a whirlwind of surprise client briefs, unexpected curveballs, and real-world property scenarios — all designed to test their instincts, creativity, and nerves of steel. Think you can handle a last-minute change in a client’s wishlist? Or pivot instantly when a viewing goes off-script? Or connect with someone who still isn’t sure what they’re actually looking for?

These agents aren’t just selling homes — they're part therapist, part strategist, part negotiator, and sometimes even magician. Watching them navigate each challenge really makes you appreciate how much unseen effort goes into helping Singaporeans find “the one”. And because every scenario mirrors the chaos of real-life property transactions, the whole thing starts feeling like a personality quiz come to life.

Quick thinking?
People skills?
Market knowledge?
Staying calm when things get weird (like when a seller’s cat refuses to come out of the bedroom)?

Watching the contestants scramble, strategise, and occasionally panic made me wonder… What would MY score be if I were thrown into this? I’m pretty sure my strength would be staging (hello, aesthetic queen ✨), but negotiation? Hmm… I’d probably lose a round to a very determined auntie. Maybe I should create a fun quiz for all of us when the show premieres!

The Hosts Bringing the Fun (and Chaos)

Guiding us through the madness are social personalities SneakySushii and Dewy Choo, who add the perfect blend of humour and relatability. Their commentary feels like watching the show with your funniest friends - the ones who point out the drama before you even catch it.

Returning champ Claire Tan joins as a resident judge, bringing sharp insight and that “I’ve been in your shoes” perspective. Each episode also features rotating industry experts, so contestants are constantly evaluated through fresh lenses.

What’s at Stake? More Than Just Bragging Rights

The winning agent walks away with $11,000 in PropertyGuru Credits which is a huge boost for visibility and business growth. Developer partners like SingHaiyi Group are also stepping in with additional prizes for standout performers who show grit, heart and exceptional spirit throughout the competition. This isn’t just entertainment, it’s a celebration of the passion behind Singapore’s property dreams.

Catch Home Run: Singapore starting 12 November 2025, airing every Wednesday at 9.30 PM on Channel 5, mewatch, and PropertyGuru’s YouTube channel. This marks PropertyGuru’s first official media partnership with Mediacorp, so expect lots of buzz across TV, radio, digital and social.

I’ve already watched the first two episodes — partly curious what a property reality show would turn out to be, and partly to see how many of those challenges I (and you!) would instantly crumble at. 😅 It may be a little dramatised at times, but honestly, it’s a fun and insightful watch for anyone house-hunting, scouting for a property agent, or even thinking of becoming one yourself!
