Senoko Energy Launches Movement to Celebrate Everyday Energy Savers with 'National Singlet Month' Campaign

Senoko Energy, dedicated to sustainable energy solutions, is launching the 'National Singlet Month' campaign to celebrate Singaporeans staying cool by wearing singlets in hot weather. This is part of Senoko's 'Thank You' campaign, which recognizes individuals saving energy in everyday ways. The initiative supports Senoko's mission to promote environmental sustainability and energy-efficient practices among its customers.

As global warming causes record temperatures, people in Singapore are using more air-conditioning, which accounts for 24% of household electricity consumption. Senoko is addressing this with several sustainability efforts, including SolarShare 2.0, Singapore's first peer-to-peer grid-scale trading platform for solar energy, and exploring hydrogen power imports with City Energy. These initiatives highlight Senoko's commitment to helping Singapore achieve net zero emissions.

From 16 July to 15 August 2024, you can participate in the campaign by posting photos or videos of yourself in a singlet along with an energy-saving tip on Facebook or Instagram. Participants stand a chance to win a 6-day ecotourism trip for two to the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, Australia, with Senoko offsetting the carbon footprint of the flights. Additionally, up to 200 twin sets of limited-edition Senoko Energy singlets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Senoko has also partnered with TOUCH Community Services in a unique initiative, pledging to match customers' energy savings dollar for dollar and donate the amount to support TOUCH’s efforts for the disadvantaged. Customers’ energy usage will be monitored bi-monthly from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025, with up to S$50,000 donated at the end of the period.

The campaign includes a short film on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, and collaborations with Mothership and influencers Xiao Ming (@sgagxiaoming) and Jayne (@jaynejetplane). It will feature various personas promoting energy-saving practices at home, with phase two of the campaign launching in 2025.
