I Love My Lamb Shabu Shabu At The New "Little Sheep Hot Pot"

| |
Hi Huneybees,

The hot pot scene in Singapore has certainly heated up with the entrance of "Little Sheep" aka 小肥羊, which opened its first outlet at One Fullerton on 29th December 2018 and yours truly Queen Bee and I were there on the opening day to find out just how special was this hot pot chain from China.

Originated from Inner Mongolia in 1999, it has since gathered a huge following with over 280 outlets worldwide that spreads across China and the international markets including the United States, Canada, Japan, and now in Singapore, thanks to its famous soup base.

With the choice of either personal (small) or group sharing hot pot (big), this famous soup base came in flavours ranging from Herbal, Mushroom, Tomato, Ma La (Spicy), to Herbal + Ma La and Herbal + Tomato.

Prepared to perfection with 36 different spices, the soup base was the heavenly match for cooking those thinly frozen lamb slices as the intrinsic gamey smell of lamb varnished magically during that few seconds of cooking in the boiling soup.

This also explains why Little Sheep prides itself for NOT having to rely on the accompaniment of dipping sauces to savor the thinly-sliced lamb that has been cooked in its delicious soup base.
Just for the record, yours truly Queen Bee who usually took time to prepare her special must-have concoction of dipping sauce at every hot pot date, was not at all craving for any accompaniment with her food throughout our dining session there!

If you do enjoy having lamb for hot pot, Little Sheep would not disappoint you as there are a better choice of Lamb Shoulder and leg slices apart from the usual "general/mix" lamb slices.

Otherwise there were a wide variety of raw foods, ranging from seafoods, meat slices, meatballs and vegetables to choose from, including premium offers such as lobster, pomfret, black pork and Wagyu beef slices.

Other than eating from the hot pot, Huneybees could also order from a list of cold and hot cooked dishes to try.

Our favourites is the delicious and aromatic Mongolia lamb skewers, which was another special at Little Sheep hot pot. We wanted to also try the Mongolia BBQ Lamb leg but unfortunately it was not available that day. Beef skewers were also available for beef lovers too!

Ambient wise, Little Sheep hot pot had its first outlet's interior decorated full of Mongolian theme. With wallpapers and serving plates printed with Mongolian horse riders, shapes of several dining corners designed like mini-yurts - traditional Mongolian house - I would believe Little Sheep certainly would like all its customers to immerse themselves in the Mongolian nomad’s timeless way of life.

To support such immersion, Little Sheep hot pot even had USB socket outlets underneath its dining table for heavy mobile phone users like us. Nice little touch there!

From our regular hot pot dining experience, the wide variety of offerings including its Mongolian lamb delicacies such as Mongolian lamb skewers, has definitely prepared Little Sheep hot pot well and ready for battle royal of the hotpots here, despite only opened since 29th December last year!

According to No Signboard Holdings Ltd, the company that brought Little Sheep hot pot into Singapore, Little Sheep is planning to open at least 1 store per year for the next 5 years to meet the demand of Singaporean consumers' caving for more hot pot.

We, being true Singaporean ourselves, will definitely return for more and hope our Huneybees will give it a try too.
