A Battle Of The 'Plungers' At The 2016 Golden Globe Awards? Here's 8 "Who Wore It Best"

| |
Hi Huneybees,

The 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California happened this morning as we are travelling to work and school and the social media is flooded with all the beautiful red carpet photos. There's always the best dressed and worst dressed writeups but being the colour addict here, I'm doing a different take on who wore what colour and who wore it better.

This year, it's a battle of the "fleshes" with plunging necklines, showing flesh right down to your navel as much as possible. But lucky there were a few that preferred to flaunt their figures another way to stand out. One such, Team Yellow!

We have America Ferrera wearing a greek inspired Jenny Peckham gown paired with Judith Leiber clutch and Simon G Jewels on the left whilst Jennifer Lopez on the is already  ruling with the widespread meme on Internet with a yellow Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown donned with 200 carats of Harry Winston diamonds and sparkly silver Jimmy Choo heels and a Judith Leiber clutch.

My votes for J.Lo though for that gown cut is never seen before and well, she's the only one seen showing legs on the red carpet...

Red is just such a beautiful shade on its on, so these 2 ladies Jennifer Lawrence and Emmy Rossum just opted for simple cuts to be paired with blings. I have to give it to Jennifer for she is rocking that crop hairstyle and flaunting that toned waistline of hers in this obliques-baring Dior Haute Couture gown topped with more than 156 carats of Chopard diamonds. Congrats on being a winner! Yay to JOY!

On Emmy Rossum: Strapless, crimson silk crepe dress by Armani Prive, teamed with statement diamond necklace

The maroon tone on a red carpet is normally pretty hard to pull off and stand out, but Olivia Wilde worked it with a plunging scarlet Michael Kors gown that shimmers with her Bulgari chunky jeweled choker, cocktail ring and gold clutch.

While on the other hand, Zendaya opted to volumised her petite figure with a tiered Marchesa gown with laser-cut floral details, dangling Yoko London pearl-and-diamond earrings, a Lydia Courteille ring and a black Marchesa clutch.

So, who will you choose? I'm picking Zendaya for this dress looked gorgeous on her, maturing her from her Disney days and just because she don't even look like a layered cake, I have to give her the thumbs up.

Though Amy Schumer didn't win voicing over as Sadness in Disney's Inside Out, blue seemed like a hot number to pick on the red carpet this year and it seemed like a colour for all skin tones and all ages.

I find it a tie between Jenna Dewan-Tatum's celestial Zuhair Murad Couture with matching Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Viola Davis's twinkling tulle ball gown with a peek-a-boo plunging neckline and cape flutter sleeves. Both shine like the beautiful stars in the night sky and it's really hard to pick! :)

On Julianna Moorefully sequined long-sleeved navy gown with an asymmetrical velvet collar and Chopard jewelry.
On Gina Rodiguez: Navy blue Zac Posen dress teamed with sapphire and diamond jewelry by Neil Lane and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Sorry Keltie Knight, as much as I'm loving that emerald off shoulder Walter Mendez dress with fishtail hem, I have to vote best plunging neckline gown to Jamie Alexander who wore this gorgeous geometric gown with Lorraine Schwartz emeralds. Topped with her fair skin and jet black hair, she is definitely popping out of the red carpet.

Yes! Everyone should be aging like Judith Light! Arriving in a white couture tux by Maggie Norris Couture tux, she beats Lily James in her goddess like rainbow pastel Marchesa gown hands down, showing some girl empowerment there! :)

Lady Gaga in her velvet off-the-shoulder Atelier Versace gown and 210 carats of Neil Lane diamonds might have made us forget about her meat dress days, Kristen Dunst's plunging Valentino Haute Couture gown with criss-cross straps around the back, plus vintage Fred Leighton diamonds reminds us of her performance in "Interview With a Vampire". This daring number wins!

And last but not least, not forgetting the Team Sparkles. Brie Larson appeared in a body-hugging and baring custom Calvin Klein Collection dress that she describes as "like [being] in a hug constantly," plus Tiffany & Co. jewels. Whilst Portia Doubleday went for a full disco-ball look in a mirrored Naeem Khan gown with V-neckline, plus a delicate Simon G. Jewelry diamond bracelet.

As much as Brie Larson is one of the best dressed named with her goddess-eques gown, I have to say I like Portia's one more. Come on! Who can actually look good and sexy dressed like a disco ball?! She really owned it!

So, any of the gowns are making you run to stores?
I'm definitely getting some inspiration as to what to wear for Chinese New Year (CNY) already.
What about you?
