Guo Pei Stunned The Audience With Her Arabian 1002th Night Haute Couture Fashion Show At FIDé Fashion Week 2013

Hi Huneybees,

Last night, Guo Pei stunned the audience at FIDé Fashion Week 2013. Being the top notch Haute Couturier from China, she was the "National Treasure" and seeing her show last night, you would know her shows are not to be missed.

Carmen Empress: Model Carmen Dell'Orefice at the Guo Pei "Arabian 1002Th Night"  Fashion Show, Beijing
Named as Arabian 1002th Night, Guo Pei drew inspiration from her trip to Iran, where the strong Arabic culture and buildings gave her light to do a continuation from the famous stories of 1001 Arabian Nights. I got a chance to catch her at backstage to ask about her inspiration behind this collection. All I have for this lady is R.E.S.P.E.C.T.!

The collection showcases extravagant gowns that depicts ladies growing from princesses to queens. As they get older, the burden is heavier, thus the gowns getting longer and more elaborate. In her previous show at the Haute Couture Fashion Show in Beijing, she invited Carmen Dell'Orefice (78 years old then) to walk the last gown in her show. Even though Carmen is did not do the walk last night, we can still see the transition of the ladies in Guo Pei's 1002th Night stories.

Other than seeing strong Arabic influences in her gowns, she also did not fail to infuse her own Chinese elements and as seen in all her shows, elaborate details were not to be missed. From hair, to makeup and nails, right down to the gown and shoes as well as accessories, everything little details was a must see! Simply just by the shoes, Alexander McQueen's Armadillo shoes have to step aside!

In  the middle of the show, the lights dimmed and when the doors opened at the other end of the runway, we knew it was time to "All Hail The Queen"! When the Japanese inspired  "queen" was led by her 3 manly followers, everyone clapped in amazement and cameras couldn't stop snapping...

I bet everyone could recognize the inspiration for the next gown. Drawn from the Chinese Porcelain Vase, the model was looking so "fragile" as she slowly makes her way down the runway in her blue and white gown...

I wana fly on that magic carpet too!

When Sofia Wakabayashi walked out in her gold gown with her Price Charming, my heart melted.
Don't she look like she stepped out of the "
Curse of the Golden Flower" set?

FIDé Fashion Week 2013 is coming to an end and I can't wait to see what the rest of the designers have to bring,. Stay tuned to my blog as I will be bringing you backstage of Guo Pei's show....
