Beerfest Asia Is Back With Its 5th Edition

Hi Huneybees,

An annual highlight for beer lovers in Singapore and the region, premier beer festival Beerfest Asia returns for the fifth time to tempt both beer and beverage enthusiasts with its diverse selection of beers.

Organised by Beerfest Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of music lifestyle company Timbre Group,  this four-day lifestyle and trade festival will be held from 13 to 16 June 2013 at the Marina Promenade (the F1 tracks behind the Singapore Flyer). Featuring more than 300 types of beer from all over the world, live stage performances, a comedy club, beer auctions and tasting workshops, it’s a distinct experience packed with great entertainment, drinks, and food that everyone has come to look forward to every year.

New beers continue to be a highlight at Beerfest Asia. This year, look out for varieties new to Singapore such as the UK’s Hollows Ginger Beer (4.0% ABV) brewed with Chinese ginger root; or German beer EKU 28, with a full-bodied malt aroma and one of the strongest beers in the world at 11% ABV.

The experience does not end at the festival. In addition to being able to purchase bottled beer at attractive prices, tasting beers before purchase, and sampling beers new to either the festival or the market, learn about
how beer is made and try brewing it yourself at home. The latter is part of the new Craft Beer Experience section where festival-goers are taken through each step of the beer-making process by brewers themselves, and can even smell the hops, taste unique home brews, and purchase a home kit if they are so inspired to make their own.

“We started this festival to raise the profile and appreciation of beer, and a significant part of the appreciation is understanding the process by which beer is made. This is the only festival that not only makes this process highly interactive and entertaining, but also brings hundreds of the world’s best beers to you in one location.” --- Festival Director Edward Chia

This edition, the festival adds a new fourth marquee, Whisky & Wine Lounge, to its line up. Revellers can now explore beyond the boundaries of new palates within the festival grounds. A range of premium and limited edition products will be on offer and tasting from exhibitors, Cornerstone Wines and Beam Global. More than just a beer festival, the quality of entertainment at Beerfest Asia remains a hallmark of the four-day event. This year, be entertained by international tribute bands like Killer Queen, The Australian Guns’N’Roses Show, The Fortunate Sons, Melbourne’s premier Creedance Clearwater Revival (CCR)/Fogerty Tribute band and a host of the best of Singapore’s local bands, including Shagies and 53A.

Also raising the bar on entertainment this year are Comedy Club Asia acts Sons of Singapore, a local comedy trio who were top performers at last year’s “Stand Up For Singapore” and a hit at Beerfest Asia 2012. The trio will be joined by international talents Tom Rhodes (USA), Stephen Grant (UK) and Steve Allison (AUS). Hosted by the popular and multi-linguistic comedic talent Jonathan Atherton, there is no better combination of award-winning wit, energy, intellect and absurdity.
