Models Kissing Heated Up The Desigual Runway Show At Audi Fashion Festival 2013

Hi Huneybees,

Ever since my trip to Barcelona, I fell in love with Desigual. Their designs are so true to themselves, so bright that you the whole Barcelona spirit on you and I must say Barcelona was where I fell in love and also where I found my love.

So, when I received the invitation to Desigual's first fashion walk at Audi Fashion Festival Singapore 2013, I knew I had to be there! I have to support the brand I love and I knew I won't be disappointed. *True indeed!*

They presented their Autumn/Winter 13/14 collection with "We Love" - a collection for those who want to love and be loved. The show kickstarted with a model on phone call and already, I was tapping my feet to the music beats...

The latest Desigual women's collection tells the story of requited love. With the "We Love" collection, they want to show its love to women by creating a world in which they feel reassured, a world that is positive and joyful that echoes their battle cry La via es Chula, a universal message expressed through 3 concepts - Fun, Sex & Love.

The apparels were what they were best in, vibrant, specially created fabric and simple silhouette for the lady who is looking for comfort and style. Even though the collection is meant for autumn and winter, many of the pieces suits our climate here in Singapore. I bet you can find me in their stores all year round.

The FUN range best represents Desigual DNA, although toning it down a little, they have included a nod to old graphics on current styles, introducing a new creative touch by incorporating jacquard, die cutting, sequin detailing, extracts from collage magazines cuttings, fun phrases and hearts.

The SEX range includes the most sophisticated evening wear with lace, cretonne and sequins, tube and fitted shaped and the unbeatable combination of black and red. A game of insinuation and seduction...

The highlight have got to be when a guy jumped out from his seat and started kissing a model, french-ing perhaps? They took a good whole 5 minutes there kissing ignoring the crowd and other models strutting next to them. Guess that's love?

Many left the show still asking, "Were they really a couple?", " Was it for show?",  "Was that a proposal?", "Was that guy drunk?". Well, only Desigual and the models know. Hehehehehe...

There's so many details to see, snap snap snap. Bags, shoes, top, back details... WOAH!

In the LOVE range, street casual and folk trends go hand in hand. Important shades include khaki and ecru. Kilim style prints are also combined withe ethnic detailing and a mixture of textiles. Red tones stand out as part of the folktrend and flocked denim, die-cut knitted dresses are also the key!

With models blowing kissing at the cameras, dancing and clapping as they strut their stuff, everyone cheered, laughed and were having a hell of a time...

Like they say, good times end fast, but I was glad I caught Rachel Erasmus - the representative of India Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 1. She looks amazing and was so friendly!

About DESIGUAL

At the tender age of 20 the young Swiss national Thomas Meyer, founder and creative director of the brand, envisaged a future in which people would dress differently, in fresh quality clothes at happy-go-lucky prices. Thus he began to weave together a business which today, despite being a global concern with head offices in Barcelona, still remains true to its founding philosophy, based on positivism, constant improvement, tolerance, commitment, fun and desigualisation (lit. un-levelling).

Mission - DESIGUAL DRESSES PEOPLE, NOT BODIES

The Desigual collections – for women, men and children – very much respond to the prevailing demand for wellbeing, quality of life, free time or ecological style. The products in these lines, designed without a glance at the current trends, seek to be special clothes. They offer high added value as they are produced in parts, each with its own design, colour and fabric, and then assembled in different combinations. Desigual does not use material in the conventional way, indeed patchworks of off-cuts of different kinds of material is one of the firm’s signs of identity. The spirit is young and happy-go-lucky, improvised and spontaneous, but with a perceptible dose of style and fashion.

Each season the Desigual design team – comprising twenty designers – dreams up a collection of over 1,000 items, counting clothes and accessories, built around one single concept, one common thread that makes the line whole resonate to the same philosophy. Thus Real Life, Magic Stories, Luxury Feelings, Me&You, Better&Better, Wow and Life is Cool, are indeed some of the leitmotifs that Desigual has brought very much to the fore.
