TANG+Co (a lifestyle concept boutique with a comprehensive range of new luxury fashion selections of premium ready-to-wear apparel, exquisite shoes and handbags as well as unique accessories), recently launched their sneak preview of their upcoming Fall/Winter'12 Collection at 1-Altitude. With the luscious treat of drinks and canapes, we were treated to a fashion show of the upcoming collections.
With a series of new international labels (MM6 by MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA, CHALAYAN GRAY, .NORMALUISA, FLYNOW, ROQUE by ILARIA NISTRI, KOONHOR, ALBERTO GUARDIANI, BELLE by SIGERSON MORRISON, MARC BY MARC JACOBS, SEE BY CHLOE, JIL SANDER NAVY, KARTELL, etc), TANG+Co aims to showcase a comprehensive range of new-luxury fashion selections, anchoring the store’s reputation as a purveyor of style.
Here’s a preview of some of the exciting brands that are coming at TANG+Co this Fall/Winter ’12.
TANG+Co Women
MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela
MM6 stands as a complimentary vision of the Maison Martin Margiela on femininity. Often, though not always, less conceptual, these garments draw their inspiration from day to day and more casual moments of life. The Fall ’12 collection takes inspiration from military and sportswear executed in Nordic echoes. Long and structured shapes characterize the outerwear, while dresses & pants are reminiscent of last season’s very feminine touch.
.normaluisa
Hailing from Milan, .normaluisa creates pieces that exude a fresh, young, bon-ton style, and is known to re-invent satin fabrics that make clothes youthful, girly and more appealing to the younger woman.
By using softer satin and chiffon fabrics, as well more structured materials for well-constructed dresses and skirts, the .normaluisa collection for Fall ‘12 showcases fun work wear pieces that have a good mix of relaxed chic pieces.
Chalayan Gray
Two-time winner of the British Designer of the Year award, Hussein Chalayan an arrival in Singapore in the form of the Chalayan Gray Fall/Winter ‘12 collection.
For the coming fall season, Chalayan Gray features a series of light, amorphous, flowing pieces that are given stylish draping details. Colors used in the fall collection include neutral to dark shades with bursts of aquatic blue printing patterns.
koonhor
koonhor was founded by Koon Lim and Catherine The, who met while they were still students at New York Fashion Institute. Both partners have strong technical design backgrounds, explaining well-constructed pieces that have a synergy of masculinity and femininity.
The design philosophy of koonhor is to create alluring women’s wear for the modern woman that is both effortless and bold in its appeal. For their Fall ‘12 collection, koonhor is putting its focus on clean, classic and refined silhouettes, together with some signature pieces that integrate form with functionality. Design motifs also include the very in-style symmetrical embroidery prints which add a touch of fun to the structure of the clothes.

Starting his fashion design career with Club Monaco, Thom Browne has been one designer to have broken all the rules of modern men’s tailoring and one could even say, revolutionized it.
His signature look, which has already developed a loyal following, consists of a three-button short suit made with precision. Thom Browne’s clever use of proportions has also made his designs very popular among men today, helping his signature line to grow with each season.
Orlebar Brown
Aimed at the modern jet setter or traveler, Orlebar Brown offers essentials for smart holiday travel. Their pieces have such a flexible design that one can wear them to the beach or pool and still look smart enough for a drink later in the evening. The brand now focuses more on chic resort wear, aiming to redefine the concept of resort wear itself.
Band of Outsiders
Sharing the same name of the 1964 French new wave film, Band of Outsiders’ designer Scott Sternberg aims for a preppy feel running throughout its entire collection. Creations take classic all-American staples and sportswear, subtly reinterpreted to result in a collection that is familiar yet given a different spin.

Belgian designer Raf Simons for Raf 1995 has been touted by the international press as one of the most important innovators in contemporary menswear. Raf Simons brings a deep edginess into menswear pieces by cleverly combining strongly-cut classic menswear with sharp lines. His style of menswear has been strongly influenced by youth culture and has been described as that of “tortured youth” or “live fast, die bohemian”.
Maison Martin Margiela
Maison Martin Margiela’s designer Martin Margiela has never been seen to attend his own shows, nor conduct face-to-face interviews. In fact, he has purportedly never been photographed, earning him the nickname of the Invisible Man.
While he has been invisible to the public, his designs have definitely been seen and loved by many. He has had a widespread influence in fashion, especially when he pioneered and launched the idea of distressing garments, a design technique still widely used today.
