Happy Birthday Sentosa!

Hi Huneybees,

Yipee! September is here and it's my favourite month! Not only is it the school holidays, the weather has turned cooler, new change of season (for clothings), it's also MY birthday month!

This year, I am honoured to celebrate with Sentosa! Our birthdays fall on the same day - 1 September and all thanks to Sentosa, me and hubby had a great time celebrating our birthdays. We got to spend a day together and play to our hearts content!

Our first stop was the LUGE. Luge is a ride (a little built like go-kart) that's manually controlled by the rider, going down a slop, while enjoying the scenery. To start beginning playing the Luge, on must go on the Skyride that will take you up a hill, that's feet-s above ground and there you will be taught how to ride the Luge.

Told ya it's feet-s above ground.
What a scenery, so relaxing, peaceful and quiet for a nice day out to spend with you loved ones.
The happy family behind us.
Don't forget to read up on the rules and regulations before you begin.
Which one should I choose?

Yeah! Off I went and I chose the Dragon Trail that had more curves and turns. I even got to spot some dragons along the way downhill....

Next up, we went ahead to the Merlion. OMG! We spotted the cutest version of Merlion ever!!!

Friendly staff at the Merlion.

Story of the Merlion - When Sang Nila Utama discovered Temasek, he spotted a lion and renamed the island Singapura that meant Lion City. The Merlion is a symbol of Temasek and Modern Singapore. The lion head alludes to the beast that once roamed the ancient isalnd and the fish body symbolises Singapore's origins as a prosperous sea port.

After watching the cute animation on Merlion, we proceeded to this huge golden Merlion statue to drop our lucky gold coin to exchange for a gift.

Going up!

Breath taking views of the Sentosa in 360 view. It's super breathtaking but a pity it was pouring that day, I could only capture minimum photo. Lucky for the Merlion's mouth, we could grab some pictures while being shaded...

Don't forget some Merlion souvenirs before you go!
Strolling around Sentosa brings surprises! A beautiful peacock appearance helped spice the day up!

Ok! Here comes the exciting part! Ahead to 4D Adventureland for the amazing 4D rides - Pirates, Desperados and Extreme Log Ride. Pirates is a 3D movie of a gold digging, treasure hunting adventure where one gets to feel what's it like to be living right in the moment, feeling like a pirate.

Desperados as portrayed in the photos is a cowboy shooting game. It's almost like the arcade gun shooting game, but this time, not only do you get to shoot the bad guys, you also get to ride like a Cowboy Sheriff! Scores will be taken and at the end of the adventure, you will be featured on the screen if you are the sharpest shooter!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Extreme Log Ride is not for the faint-hearted. Where is Himalayazon? Well, take this adventurous ride to find out! Strap yourself into the Capsule (shown below) and get ready to go through the roller coaster ride while avoiding saws and crocodiles!

After the heart racing adventure, it was time to chill out and calm down. The Tiger Beer Sky Tower, not only is a air conditioned capsule, it was also a great place to get the 360 view of Sentosa and beyond. Simply sit tight and enjoy the view or do tons of camwhoring like I did. Hehehehehe!

That's the infamous RWS - Resorts World Sentosa.

Another attraction to explore would be the Images of Singapore. There are wax figures inside, depicting stories of life when Singapore was still a fishing village, as well as the times when we went through World War II. It's a sad part of Singapore, but Images of Singapore is a great place to remind us of how great our lives are now and to treasure the way it is now....

One last stop before the sun sets was the GoGreen adventure. I had played the Segway before and went on their After Dark Adventure. You guys should go try it, especially during the Halloween period! So I took the opportunity to ride again with hubby. We're both in love with the Segway and guess we might get one? Wahahahaha! It will be weird to see us riding a Segway down the roads of Singapore right?

As the night drew in, we headed over to Siloso Beach to watch Songs of the Sea It is the world's only permanent show set in the sea— with spectacular pyrotechnics displays, water jets that could shoot up to 40 meters, laser show, flame bursts, a live cast, and an open-air viewing gallery which can comfortably accommodate 2,500 visitors.

The Plot -  One of Li's friends, a young, unnamed Indian girl, asks Li what should they do to entertain the audience. So they thought of singing. They played four different songs of the four different races. Li sits on a rock and daydreams at the kelong. So his friends sung "Singapura, Sunny Island" making Li sing his "Magical Song" , his song causes Princess Ami to appear over the kelong, but she is shown to be asleep. Shocked, Li and his friends panicked at the stunning vision of Princess Ami. Oscar appears and greets Li. Oscar tells Li how he knew his name and explains to Li about the vision of Princess Ami.

After learning about what has happened, Li sets out to seek for Princess Ami, but Oscar continues his monologue warning him, "Who knows what strange encounters you may have along the way!". Along the way he meets the 3 Lords of the Elements. The first is The Lord of Fire, with the others being The Spirit of Light and the Lady of the Sea. Li sings for all three of them and helps regain their powers which they had lost after falling into a long sleep. After each successful song, there would be a spectacular show of flame bursts, laser displays and fountain displays respectively. Li believes he should give up after many attempts of trying, but then Oscar's friends encouraged Li with the song "You're Not in This on Your Own". After everyone joins in the singing, and their voices awaken Princess Ami, who is seen above the kelong smiling at the audience, which is followed by a spectacular display of the fountains, laser beams and fireworks.

After awakening Princess Ami with his singing powers, Oscar congratulates Li, for his deed, and waves the audience and Li and his friends goodbye, and the show ends with a final blast of fireworks.

What an exhilarating way to end the night! I have to thank Sentosa for such a great day and Happy 40th Birthday Sentosa!
