Lor Mee Outing

| |
Hi Huneybees,

We have been talking about a group outing amongst the bloggers for the longest time and a topic of eating Lor Mee started when I 'foursquared' that I was having the 178 Lor Mee at Tiong Bahru Market.

Jessie suggested the Bukit Purmei Lor Mee and coincidentally, another friend, whose alias is Jalormee (Eat Lor Mee) said that he wanted to join us and it turned out to be our little weekend lunch outing....

It's highly recommended by Dr Leslie Tay himself (You can find the article here). My mum had packed it back for me before, but well, it's been so long, I have forgotten about this stall. Coming back here brings back memories of the Lor Mee I had...

Be warned of the super long queue, especially on weekends. We queued for almost 45 mins and of course, everyone had to order the large bowl to taste what all the "Ho-Ha-s" about....

The stall was even featured in the local TV show!

The Lor Mee's Lor (sauce) is very different from the usual ones we get out there. It's not the super dark type and turns watery after adding in vinegar and stirring after a while. This one stay gooey and it's super tasty. Quoting from my hubby, it has different levels of taste and coming from someone who hates Lor Mee, this is definitely a stall to try out!
Also, the ingredients are very different from the usual ones. Normally, you find get fish slices, pork belly chunks and eggs, but this stall has Ngor Hiang, Pork Chops, Char Siew, lean slices of pork (Ladies, don't have to worry bout the fats) and crunchy flour bits.

I'll give the Lor Mee a 4 upon 5 stars! Must try!!! See our happy faces, you know how good it is... :)
