Singapore’s First Pokémon TCG Gym Deluxe Opens at SCAPE: A Trainer’s Walkthrough of Rowell TCG

Hi Huneybees,

Last weekend was a celebration for Pokémon fans in Singapore. The long-awaited opening of Rowell TCG’s Pokémon TCG Gym Deluxe at *SCAPE finally happened, and from the moment you step inside, it’s clear this isn’t just another card shop.

Rowell Video Pte Ltd or better known to many of us simply as Rowell TCG, has officially opened Singapore’s first Pokémon TCG Gym Deluxe store, bringing together everything a trainer could want under one roof. This new space blends retail, gameplay, collectibles and competition into a single immersive experience right in the heart of Orchard Road.

First Impressions

We were among the first to enter the gym, and the layout immediately stood out. The store is bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, making it a genuinely comfortable place to hang out — whether you’re battling, browsing, or just soaking in the Pokémon atmosphere.

The lighting deserves a special mention. If you’ve ever struggled to read tiny TCG text during an intense match, you’ll appreciate how easy it is on the eyes here. Every detail feels intentional, from the open play areas to the neatly curated displays.

What You’ll Find Inside the Gym

As you walk through the space, you’re greeted with a gallery-style display of single TCG cards, alongside booster packs and Elite Trainer Boxes for collectors and players alike. Official Pokémon merchandise lines the shelves, and the Pokémon Mezastar machines, featuring the latest Stardust Version 4, add an arcade-like buzz to the store.

There’s also a dedicated tournament space, clearly set up with competitive play in mind; a sign that this gym isn’t just about buying cards, but about building a community.

Launch Day Buzz

Even early in the morning, Pokémon trainers were already forming long queues outside the store. The excitement was real, with many eager to get their hands on official Pokémon products.

Unsurprisingly, the Pokémon Mega Evolution – Phantasmal Flames Elite Trainer Box emerged as the crowd favourite. With a purchase limit of one box per trainer, it was flying off the shelves fast.

If you’re new to the Pokémon TCG world, this gym still has you covered. Beginner-friendly TCG teaching workshops and Pokémon Gym Battles make it easy to jump in without feeling overwhelmed.

A Natural Home at *SCAPE

Located within one of Singapore’s most recognisable youth hubs, *SCAPE feels like a natural fit for the Pokémon TCG Gym Deluxe concept. The venue draws a mix of young fans, casual players and dedicated enthusiasts are exactly the kind of crowd Rowell TCG has been nurturing for years.

The *SCAPE outlet also marks a major milestone for Rowell TCG. From its roots as a neighbourhood video rental shop to becoming a well-known trading card community hub, this Gym Deluxe format is easily its most ambitious evolution yet.

More Than a Store: A Growing Pokémon Community

As a Pokémon-licensed and approved store, Rowell TCG will be hosting weekly gym battles and monthly in-house Pokémon TCG tournaments at its *SCAPE location. These regular events reinforce Rowell TCG’s commitment to growing and supporting Singapore’s Pokémon community, with updates shared via its official social media channels.

With the Southeast Asia TCG market continuing to grow (valued at approximately USD 101.7 million in 2024)  it’s exciting to see dedicated spaces like this shaping the future of TCG culture locally.

Whether you’re a long-time trainer, a curious newcomer, or someone who just wants to admire the cutest Pokémon cards around, Rowell TCG at *SCAPE is worth a visit. Come hang around with fellow trainers, battle it out, swap tips, or simply find a Pokémon to bring home.

This gym isn’t just a store.
It’s a space where the Pokémon community comes alive!
See you all there!
