Create 'Art For Good' at Frasers Property Singapore Malls This June Holiday

| |
Hi Huneybees,

This June holiday, Frasers Property Singapore is proud to launch Art For Good, an annual initiative designed to promote inclusivity through collaborative art creation. From May 24 to July 28, Art For Good will offer a variety of family-friendly activities across nine Frasers Property Singapore malls islandwide.

Returning for the second year, the signature "Paint It Forward" art jamming sessions will showcase artwork inspired by five talented artists on the autism spectrum from The Art Faculty, a social enterprise by the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore). Participants can join by donating $10, and for each completed canvas, Frasers Property Singapore will match the donation with an additional $10 to support a worthy cause.

All proceeds will go to Community Chest to fund art programs for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, selected merchandise from The Art Faculty will be available for purchase at their pop-up stores, with all proceeds benefiting The Art Faculty and its artists.

Through partnerships and programs with both established and emerging artists, Art For Good and its theme #EveryoneIsAble bring people of all abilities together to co-create, explore, and learn about inclusivity and diversity. This initiative transforms Frasers Property Singapore malls into vibrant neighborhood hubs of artistic expression and cultural exchange.

Key highlights of the event Include:

  • Paint It Forward: Unleash your creativity and art jam with us for a good cause at Paint It Forward this school holiday! Back for its second season, join us as we co-create art to celebrate inclusiveness and support the aspirations of persons with disabilities.

Show your support and donate $10 per participant to art jam on specially designed canvases created by five talented artists on the autism spectrum from The Art Faculty. Frasers Property Singapore will also donate $10 for every completed canvas. All proceeds will go to Community Chest, in support of art programs for persons with disabilities. At the conclusion of “Paint It Forward”, all the co-created artwork will be linked together to form a Community Canvas Collage to be displayed at Causeway Point from 2 – 7 July.

  • A Stroll in the Painting: Immerse yourself in a life-sized installation by self-taught heritage mural artist Yip Yew Chong, depicting the bustling marketplaces of the 1960s-1970s. Presented by National Gallery Singapore, the installation will be showcased throughout July with interactive storytelling sessions and meet-and-greet opportunities with the artist.

Transport yourself to a bustling marketplace in 1960s -1970s Southeast Asia with Yip Yew Chong’s A Stroll in the Painting art installation, inspired by the artworks of Cheong Soo Pieng - one of Singapore's most influential artists. Engage in activities, storytelling, meet the artist and more! The roving installation is open from 12 - 8pm in the month of July.

  • Support The Art Faculty: Show your appreciation for artistic talent and purchase unique gifts designed by The Art Faculty artists. All proceeds will go directly to the artists and The Art Faculty.

Here's how you can participate:

  • Register for "Paint It Forward" sessions: Sign up online at www.FrasersExperience.com/book/PIF24. The sessions are designed to be wheelchair-friendly and accessible for all ages and abilities. Calm zones are also available within the event spaces for those with sensory needs. Participants will receive a painting kit along with a specially designed canvas outline of their choice inspired by The Art Faculty artists - Grace Ong, Joshua Chiang, Foo Thong Keen, Ezra Chan Yi and Nurul Amirah Binte Zain.

The styles of the artists are diversely unique and speak to their individual creativity and approach to art. Grace has a whimsical and free-spirited style where she enjoys drawing detailed line art of architecture, nature, portraits and anything that possesses intricate beauty. Joshua enjoys drawing still life which allows him to capture a memory, as well as fun motifs. Thong Keen enjoys illustrating expressive and colourful dinosaurs and his animals often carry a bewildered expression. Ezra loves doodling all the time, and his subjects range from pigeons to seaweed to daily scenes. Amirah has a keen eye for patterns in nature, expressing herself with bold lines and vibrant colours.

  • Shop for a cause: Support The Art Faculty artists by purchasing their merchandise available at pop-up stores in select malls. The Art Faculty transforms the artwork of their differently-abled artists into high-quality, functional products, allowing them to earn royalties, understand the value of work, and gain financial independence through a dignified source of income. Selected merchandise such as umbrellas, notebooks, cups and more from The Art Faculty will be available for sale at Waterway Point, Northpoint City, Causeway Point and Century Square.
