Hi Huneybees,
Among many praises for Singapore, food is definitely one of them and situated in the sleepy estates of Sembawang is one of those good but lesser known restaurant called The Famous Kitchen @ Hong Heng Mansions.
What attracted yours truly Queen Bee and I back to Famous Kitchen is its wide variety of different Chinese regional cuisines, from Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew, Singapore to Thailand offerings, including some of the more unique but varnishing dishes.

Speaking of unique and varnishing dishes, Christina really loves the
Marinated Cockles Teochew Style while I absolutely enjoyed the taste of the
Baked Flower Crab with Rock Salt 盐香焗花蟹 , both traditional dishes are hard to find outside Famous Kitchen today.

Oven-baked Volcano Chicken火山烤鸡, SGD58 per whole chicken |

When visiting The
Famous Kitchen @ Hong Heng Mansions, I would recommend Huneybees (in a group of 3 or more) to at least try their signatures dishes that include
Oven-baked Volcano Chicken火山烤鸡 (advance order required),
Lobster Braised with Bee Hoon龙虾焖米粉 and
Steamed Fish with Preserved Vegetables on Hot Plate招牌铁板酸菜蒸鱼.

For Zi Char diehards, there's the
KL style hokkien mee (SGD12/SGD18/SGD24), the super black-fried-dry version with a lots of pork lards, which I found it very authentic and yummy!
The Famous Kitchen @ Hong Heng Mansions, which has a large seating capacity that comprises of both outdoor and indoor with private rooms available, has a cosy ambience which is ideal for family gatherings, company dinners and special celebratory events.
Next to the restaurant, the same owner operates an outdoor bar -called Famous HangOut- offering various alcoholic beverages including more than 40 varieties of whisky, probably the largest in Singapore!
The restaurant was also featured in MediaCorp channel 8 variety show called Sizzling Woks 2 back in 2010, is also recommended by the Micheline Guide 2019.
Despite with its limited parking space and not so convenience location - as there's no MRT stations in its vicinity - it's still worth making a beeline for The Famous Kitchen @ Hong Heng Mansions, when it comes to food in Singapore.
The Famous Kitchen is located at Hong Heng Mansions, 54 Sembawang Road, #01-01,
