Mid-Autumn Family FUN 2025: A Toy Collector’s Dream Date with Monday Bruce & More!

| |
Hi Huneybees,

If you are like me, or your partner & family!) loves toys, collectibles, and all things kawaii, then you’ll want to mark this on your calendars! The Mid-Autumn Family FUN (MAFF) 2025 is back, bigger than ever, and it’s bringing a giant toy-inspired rooftop experience to the CBD.

From 4 – 5 October 2025, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will be turning their spaces into a vibrant playground with 27 exciting programmes. And yes, the highlight is straight out of a toy collector’s dream.

🐇 Rooftop Rabbits: Meet Monday Bruce in XXL

If you’re into blind box collectibles, you’ll definitely know Monday Bruce – the cheeky rabbit character that’s stolen hearts around the world. Now imagine him blown up into five gigantic glowing inflatables, perched on the rooftop garden against Singapore’s night skyline, joining you to shake off those workday blues!

It’s like stepping into your toy shelf, but life-sized. Perfect for toy photography, couple selfies, or a magical evening stroll with the kids. And the best part? This installation will be up from 11 September to 30 November (10am – 10pm daily),  just so you can plan a few visits, just like a collector hunting for that elusive chase figure.

Music Meets Moonlight

Collectors may hunt toys, but memories are treasures too. The SCO’s Ancient Moon, Present Light concert invites even toddlers under six (a first for them!) to enjoy festive Chinese orchestral music under the baton of Moses Gay. Totally a sweet family date idea - listening to moonlit tunes together before lantern walks.

Collect Moments with Hands-On Workshops

Instead of just collecting toys, why not collect skills? MAFF 2025 has parent-and-child workshops where you can make soap (tickets at $7 per pair), go on a unique sensory tea experience (tickets at $7 per pair), or even better, whisk your own tea (tickets at $7 per pair), or craft cellophane lanterns (tickets at $5 per pair) or scented pouches together (tickets at $5 per pair). These are the kind of handmade keepsakes that last longer than plastic packaging.

Rabbit’s Brew House: A Cultural Pop-Up

Now here’s a spot where toy collectors can geek out and foodies can rejoice. Step into the Rabbit’s Brew House for mooncake and tea tastings, hanfu dance and crosstalk shows, plus DIY sessions for lanterns and Chinese knots. It’s like a crossover collab: part tea house, part toy world, part live show.

A Festival Line-Up for All Ages

Down at the concourse, Play It Chilli Free has drumming acts, storytelling, poetry recitals, and even lantern riddles. Think of it as festival side-quests while you wait to catch that perfect golden-hour shot with Monday Bruce upstairs.

Collect Stamps, Redeem Exclusives

And yes, there’s even a collector’s mechanic built in — a bingo-style stamp hunt! Complete activities, explore different spots, and you’ll earn stamps to redeem exclusive prizes like silk-screen printed tote bags (made with STPI!) and Munchi pancakes. It’s almost like a gacha game, but the prizes are guaranteed.

“Through the festival, we hope to transform our Centre into a festive hub where families and friends can celebrate Mid-Autumn in uniquely Singaporean ways, while bringing cultural vibrancy into the CBD.” ---  Alvin Tan, SCCC CEO

So, whether you’re a toy collector couple looking for a whimsical rooftop date, or a family of little collectors-in-training, MAFF 2025 has all the ingredients for a Mid-Autumn celebration that’s fun, cultural, and definitely Instagram-worthy.
