To celebrate Singapore's 60th birthday, there's a slew of events popping up and one big flagship event is the SG60 Heart&Soul Experience that officially opens from 26 August to 31 December 2025 at Orchard Library and its surrounding malls. This immersive flagship event invites Singaporeans to journey across our past, present, and future, and imagine together what life could be like in tomorrow’s Singapore.
Through a mix of immersive storytelling, generative AI, and interactive installations, you will discover how far we’ve come as a nation and reflect on where we’re headed. From personalised digital experiences to imaginative exhibits across Orchard Central and orchardgateway, Heart&Soul promises to be a meaningful, fun, and eye-opening way to celebrate SG60.
A Nation’s Story, Told in a New Way
The experience is jointly developed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) and the National Library Board (NLB). Launched by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the event was also graced by ministers, partners, and youths from across Singapore.
Heart&Soul is not just a showcase of technology; it’s about connecting Singaporeans to our roots, our aspirations, and each other. With contributions from over 110 partners across the public, private, and people sectors (including ForwardSG), the exhibition invites you to reflect on how we live, work, play, and dream together.
Created by the team behind SG50’s “The Future of Us” and 2019’s “The Bicentennial Experience”, the event blends artistry, history, and imagination to create something as emotional as it is futuristic.
What to Expect at the Heart&Soul Experience
The free ticketed experience (60–90 minutes) begins at Orchard Library (Levels 3 & 4, orchardgateway). You will receive a geo-enabled multimedia guide and step into a journey filled with interactive zones:
-
Boarding – Step into retro-style phone booths and chat with a digital librarian about your interests (available in 4 languages), setting the stage for your personalised journey.
-
Wheels of Time – Trace Singapore’s evolution of human connection, from handwritten letters to the digital age, enriched with oral histories and reflections of pivotal moments like COVID-19.
-
Windows in the Sky – A stunning, floor-to-ceiling immersive space where generative AI brings your story of the future to life. You’ll even get a personalised trailer of you in future Singapore!
-
Library Superstore – A whimsical “retail emporium” where future ideas come alive through interactive concepts on healthcare, sustainability, and inclusivity. Some displayed are alsready in the works and I can't wait to see these prospective projects actually coming to life in the near future.
Curiocity – Discover Singapore’s past, present, and future through themes of transport, sustainability, and urban evolution. Highlights include AR stories of places like Paya Lebar Airbase and Turf Club, plus a striking installation of tomorrow’s housing estates.
-
World 60 – Travel beyond Singapore with 60 global events that shaped our world, paired with stories of local transformation at this installation that's inspired by Holland Village’s Thambi Magazine Store.
-
Home is a Feeling – End your journey with a personal keepsake: a digital bookmark linked to Cultural Medallion writers and your own “future trailer.”
Beyond the ticketed showcase, the non-ticketed installations at Orchard Central and orchardgateway atria are free to explore. Highlights include:
-
Becoming Singaporean – A visual tribute to our nation’s journey through colourised archival videos.
-
1-800-Future – Step into quirky orange phone booths and dial into tomorrow.
-
Time Traveller – An AI-powered photo booth where you can create reimagined postcards of Singapore’s history.
-
Windows of Time – Snap a photo for charity: for every picture taken, Tote Board and Singapore Pools pledge $1 to mental wellness charities (capped at $500,000).

It was truly an honour to get a sneak peek at the Heart&Soul experience before it opens to the public. Walking through it felt like stepping into a living storybook of Singapore — one where we can explore our past, appreciate how far we’ve come, and imagine the future together. It’s not just for locals, but for anyone who wants to rediscover the heartbeat of our nation.
What really blew me away was how fun the technology made the whole experience. One moment I was busy creating my avatar at the phone booths, and the next it was popping up in the Windows in the Sky scenes like magic. It felt futuristic yet so personal, and it left me excited about what Singapore’s future could look like. I even got a little teary-eyed seeing the older version of us on screen; touching and heartwarming all at once.
