Just Visited i Light Singapore 2024 — Here’s What You Have to Check Out

| |
Hi Huneybees,

There’s something magical about Singapore at night, especially during i Light Singapore, and this year’s edition truly lit up my evening (pun very much intended πŸ˜„). I just came back from wandering through glowing walkways, dreamy installations, and playful spaces, and I had to share the highlights while they’re still fresh in my mind!

Here’s what’s new, what stood out, and what you absolutely shouldn’t miss at i Light Singapore 2024...

A New Theme, A New Feel

This year marks the 10th edition of i Light, and it’s themed “Cyclical Nature” -  a poetic nod to sustainability, nature’s rhythms, and our shared future. It’s not just about pretty lights (though there are plenty); every installation is created with recycled or environmentally conscious materials. It's thoughtful, beautiful, and very Instagram-worthy.

New Spots to Explore: Hello, Tanjong Pagar!

For the first time, the festival extends beyond Marina Bay into Tanjong Pagar, and I loved this new addition. It felt a bit like discovering a hidden gem tucked away in the city.

Hidden Garden at Tras Link Park is a must-see with giant glowing flowers, soft music, and a tranquil vibe that feels like stepping into a neon fairytale. It’s a sweet contrast to the buzzier Marina Bay circuit. And if you’re into sustainable shopping, they’ve set up a whole eco-market here, with local vendors, workshops, and live performances (some even powered by solar energy!).

My Top 5 Must-See Installations

There are so many stunning pieces, but these ones really stopped me in my tracks:

1. Iwagumi Air Scape by ENESS (Australia)

Think soft, glowing boulders inspired by Japanese aquascapes that's super calming in the way the lights pulse with “breaths” gives it this serene, almost meditative vibe.

2. Arc ZERO: Nimbus by Studio James Tapscott

This was magical. A ring of mist and light right by the water — walking through it felt like crossing into another dimension. It’s both surreal and grounding.

3. Dandelion by Amigo & Amigo

This one’s interactive! You place your hands on a panel, and the sculpture lights up with a melody. It’s playful, gentle, and kinda therapeutic?

4. Kinetic Perspective by Juan Fuentes Studio

Mesmerising is the word. As you walk around, the patterns shift and dance — it’s one of those “can’t-stop-watching” experiences.

5. Fountain of Happiness by 27June Studio

A swing set… but glowing with rainbow tubes that change colour as you move! It’s fun, nostalgic, and surprisingly emotional. Don’t skip it.

πŸ” Bonus: GastroBeats = Food + Music + More Lights!

If you're heading to Marina Bay, don't miss GastroBeats at the Bayfront Event Space. I treated myself to a juicy burger from The Curry Club and tried a quirky Korean-style corn dog from Kwazy Korndogs. There’s live music, neon-themed games, and the Coca-Cola zone with interactive booths and sustainability quizzes (and prizes!). Great vibes all around.

i Light Singapore has always been one of my favourite annual events,  and 2024 really raised the bar. From dreamy landscapes to fun interactive pieces, it’s a beautiful reminder that sustainability and creativity can go hand in hand.

If you’ve been meaning to make a night out of it, this is your sign! Bring your camera, comfy shoes, and someone who’ll appreciate a little light magic. ✨ Check out my event video for a peek at the most photogenic spots to explore!
