Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2023 is back! Presented by Samsung, this year, we are celebrating 700 years of Singapore’s port city history at Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct. Stories of Singapore’s rich heritage are expressed through multicolored light installations, captivating projection mappings, and an array of performances across the precinct. Throughout the nine-day festival (every night from 18 August until 26 August 2023, from 7:30pm - 12am) festival-goers can also look forward to special tours, artists' talks, and more.
With over 50 experiences, guided by the theme Singapore, the Great Port City, SNF 2023 sheds light on Singapore’s evolution from a vital port city to today’s dynamic modern metropolis. Here are some of the highlights of the festival...
2 700 Years (National Museum of Singapore)
Every year, the National Museum of Singapore is a must-go. This year, presented by Samsung, the festival’s Presenting Sponsor, projection mapping 700 Years by playwright Zizi Majid, illustrator Muhammad Izdi, and digital artist Jérémie Bellot (AV Extended) captivates festival-goers with a six-minute theatrical experience that takes them on a journey through 700 years of Singapore’s port city history.
1 Time is a Black Circle (National Museum of Singapore)
Time is a Black Circle by Dawn Ng, transports festival-goers to the roaring sixties and seventies to experience the discothèques located in the BBB precinct. Festival-goers can roller skate in a cylindrical “disco time portal” that resembles a vinyl record and relive a bygone era in their parents’ and grandparents’ dancing shoes, or choose the non-skating option where they may enjoy an immersive multisensorial experience that recalls the psychedelic colours and nostalgic tunes of the discothèque era. Tickets are available via Klook.
Festival-goers can snap a picture at four Night Lights installations - 6 A Stone’s Throw (Away) by WY-TO Group, co-presented by the National Library Board; 7 Rimbun by Shakir (a.k.a Grasshopper); 9 Preserving Paradise by Teo Huey Ling and 11 “Flowing Water Road” Shrine by Mindflyer, co-presented by Raffles City Singapore - using Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Flip5.

Festival-goers are also invited to visit Samsung’s Galaxy Studio pop-up to check out its Galaxy devices, such as the new Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. They may also enjoy special Samsung deals and SNF exclusives, including unique CASETiFY covers designed by participating artists, Ashley YK Yeo, Chris Chai (Cosmicchai), and Sadiq Mansor (249.png), and other local brand collaborations.
17 Over at the Festival Village @ Armenian Street organized by the Peranakan Museum, festival-goers can delight in local delicacies like kueh by The Flour Department x Pastories and the Peranakan-themed festivities.
3A/B/C The vibrant Festival Village @ CHIJMES entertains festival-goers with eclectic beats, and delectable food and drinks as they enjoy the projection mapping works presented by Ashley YK Yeo, Chris Chai (Cosmicchai), and Sadiq Mansor (249.png), on the façade of the heritage building.
