Pop Up Disney! Makes Me Want To Travel So Bad

| |
Hi Huneybees,

I miss going to Hong Kong, miss my trips to dim sum restaurants, miss the harbour view and most of all miss my seasonal trips to Disneyland. It's been almost 2 years and when we heard of "Pop Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration" at Suntec City, we immediately made our arrangements and bookings.

We bought a slightly more the special tickets that came with the headbands, so we both got a Mickey and a Minnie one each to wear throughout our photo taking session. Sadly, we had to keep our masks on at all times, so the headbands would make a fun rendition.

A quick briefing by the friendly staff before we embark on our journey. You can always approach them to help you with the photo taking. Everything is sterilized and we all kept our rightful distance whilst taking turns to get our photos taken.

Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration is a tribute to Mickey Mouse, you can find his presence in all the 7 different imaginatively themed rooms and in each room, you can find little hidden icons as well as put your knowledge of Disneyland to the test in a QR-code activated trivia. Score at least 3 correct answers to walk away with a special gift! You can try asking the staff or Google for the answers...

1) Mickey & Minnie’s Love

The first room is a welcoming scene for lovers with the huge Minnie ribbon sofa right smack in the middle of the room. We were surrounded with lots of lovely bows, hearts and kissing frames for all the Insta-worth couple shots.

2) It All Started With A Mouse

Stepping into the initial monochrome comic era, where the iconic Steamboat Mickey and Minnie for met, brings back all the memories when I first entered the animation world and got introduced to this lovely mouse couple and their friends.

We spent a little more time here in this 2D world and after chillaxing with Mickey , it was time to move on to the next themed room.

3) Mickey's Friendships

"To Mickey With Love" marks the themed room where art creations of Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Chip 'n' Dale pay tribute to their favourite mouse in town.

I love this one from Pluto where he made a statue of Mickey with dog treats.

FRIENDS FOREVER!

4) Sorcerer Mickey's Magic

Stepping into the water tunnel, we were transported to the world of Fantasia, where Mickey 'stole'  a sorcerer's hat, thinking it could help him with his chores, only to overdo things and ended with the Sorcerer having to step in and help.

In this room, all's dark with lighted sparkles everywhere for that magical touch and at the end of the room, zoom into space with Mickey!

5) Mickey Loves Singapore

An exclusive Singapore only carnival room celebrates Mickey with our very own local touch in collaboration with local artist WhenIWasFour. You can find traditional kuehs and snacks with the iconic Mickey logo, some of our famous structure and buildings as well as some childhood games as you "walk" along this carnival.

Mickey and his friends were playing hide and seek with us, we took some time going through every "secret door" to spot them...

Photo ops were everywhere in this space and the fairy lights make it such a warm place to stay in as we played and mingle with Mickey and his friends.

Whilst waiting for our turn to enter the next room, we spent some time with the Colouring Magic screen, by scanning the QR code and painted our very own masterpiece and watch it come to live on screen!

6) Forever Mickey

Get trippy in this room filled with Mickey-s. There were infinity loads of Mickey hats above our heads as we head into the futuristic infinity room. Don't be shy and just spam your selfies here as the room changes into rainbow shades along with the happy music in the background.

7) Mickey at Disneyland

This is my favorite room with Mickey and all his friends out to play. Can't travel to Hong Kong? They brought HK Disneyland to us! We frolicked under the giant magical bubbles, "grabbed a bite" of our favorite themed park Mickey treats and not leaving till we have taken a pic with the iconic Cinderella castle...

Well, that marks the end of all the themed rooms, but we didn't forget to bring some of the memories and experience home at the Mickey Mart Retail Store. Be prepared to spoil yourselves with all the Mickey merchandises.

If only I could bring this whole dragon playground home too...

Did you notice my matching face mask with Minnie headband?
