The Fray Led 1,759 Fans Toasting To Arthur On Guinness Arthur’s Day

Hi Huneybees,

Last night 1,759 fans came together for the celebration of Guinness Arthur’s Day for the second time in Singapore, with double platinum record artists The Fray. Singapore joined over 55 countries and an estimated 1.7 million people across the world to celebrate the fifth year that Guinness Arthur’s Day has been celebrated globally.

The Arthur’s Day celebration was set up in 2009 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the original lease at St. James’s Gate, Dublin – the home of GUINNESS.

Partying in a specially constructed pint-shaped concert arena at The Promontory@Marina Bay, guests at the concert enjoyed an epic set by the Denver alternative-rock band, and were also entertained by local band Ellipsis – winners of the ‘Play on the Day’ competition who kicked off the night’s revelry.

Opening their sets with their popular songs -  "Syndicate", "All at Once" & "You Found Me" got the fans high singing along to their songs and during the first song, the Guinness Arthur’s Day backdrop came down to reveal a transparent screen that allowed for views of the illuminated Marina Bay and the breath-taking Singapore skyline, making it all so romantic and intimate...

The Fray also led the the huge crowd of fans and invited guests in the signature toast to “To Arthur”, celebrating GUINNESS’ founder Arthur Guinness who was distinctive, bold and epitomizes the concept “Made of More”. "CHEERS TO ARTHUR!!!"

The band, who are in the mixing and editing stage of their fourth studio album, even performed a sneak peek of the upcoming album, debuting for the first time outside the U.S., much to the audience’s delight! Their new songs "Hold My Hand" and "Wherever This Goes", were thrown into the crowd-swaying mix, along with their award-winning tunes "How to Save a Life", "Never Say Never", "You Found Me" and "Over my Head (Cable Car)", amongst others.

At the concert, the table of mystery Singapore-specific artifacts that were hidden at the GUINNESS by the Decades’ Exhibition were also revealed. I didn't know they even had flask memorabilia manufactured! It's amazing how extensive the collection is....
