Stepping into Marina Square's Central Atrium, you will be greeted by majestic 3D sculptures of endangered ocean animals made entirely out of eco-friendly cardboard. Taking center stage is an 8 metres long whale accompanied by a waddle of penguins. You can also other life-sized marine animals such as the shark, dolphin, turtle, seal, and polar bear.
These sustainability installations are created via a joint project with Singapore Polytechnic, led by Lead Consultant Mr. Bartholomew Ting to spread the word about plastic pollution and create an eco-friendly ocean for these endangered animals.
Other than these 3D sculptures, there's also an immersive 3D augmented reality screen where you can meet the wildlife animals in their natural habitat condition. Watch them graze, swim and move across the screen right before your eyes. Pose some interactive photos to share on your socials...
It's time that everyone starts putting in the effort to help save the Earth and let our generations to come and experience what we are now able to enjoy and see these animals IRL, instead of just these cardboard or AR versions. See this chart above, just simply breaking down a plastic bag takes up to 20 years! Imagine the waste build-up and all the other harmful effects plastic have!
Let's do our part and take a pledge to #BeatPlasticPollution, reduce your environmental footprint and plastic consumption in favour of recyclable goods, and waste reduction. The first 700 shoppers who make the pledge by taking a photo at the Pledge Booth will receive a mini whale cardboard DIY sculpture set, which you can make with your kids at home and perhaps add some colours to it?
If you are shopping at the mall, Marina Square Rewards Members can also get their hands on a specially designed wildlife animal-themed mug made with Bamboo Fibre. Simply spend a minimum of $100* at Marina Square to redeem one at the Customer Service Counter.
*up to 3 same-day receipts, limited to 1 redemption per member per day, while stocks last.

You can learn about their green initiatives and special promotions they are running for this period whilst viewing the future sustainable metropolis envisioned by the children from Lily Valley Preschool.
