Hi Huneybees,

Donned in a turquoise gown and pearl/diamond jewelry (worth over SGD2.2 million), Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) was in Singapore to grace the opening of MIKIMOTO flagship store.

Located at Bay Level, L1-21 of The Shoppes of Marina Bay Sands, the new boutique of MIKIMOTO embodies the house's refined elegance, sophistication and extraordinary quality. Reflecting the great blue sea that pearls are in found in, the store had hints of wave patterns and crystal chandeliers that symbolizes the water bubbles...

Founded by Kokichi Mikimoto, MIKIMOTO has been held in esteem globally for its history of culturing the world's first semi-spherical (Akoya) pearl since 1893, presenting pearl masterpieces that adorn the elegance of women for 120 years.

Kokichi-san even impressed Thomas Edison when he did a tour to Europe and US back in 1927 and Mikimoto pearls became a household name overnight when it was reported in the New York Times.

At the launch party, Linda Chung and the models "showed off" the wonderful pearls together with those exhibited. Linda said she felt instantly gorgeous, confident and elegant the moment she had the White Bouquet necklace on....

The White Bouquet features an array of floral bouquet made of lacily-set diamonds on 18k white gold necklace and a multi-strand pearl necklace made of South Sea and Akoya pearls. It's an extravagant necklace that will brighten any black gown for the special occasion!

Other than the White Bouquet, there were 2 other one-of-a-kind Mikimoto pearl creations that were specially flown in as well. This tiara named - Tale of Flowers is literally every girl's dream, wakening up every princess in us.

Inspired by unique seasonal flowers in Japan - Sakura, Hydrangea, Cosmos and Daffodils, the tiara is meticulously crafted and set with diamonds with matching central shining pearls. This is also traces back to the history of Mikimoto being the jewelry creator and designer for the Japanese Royal Family since Meiji and Taisho era.

And lastly is the Mebius, the gorgeous elegant scarf-like necklace the drapes round the neck. Set on 18k white gold with rows of Ayoka pearls accented by brilliant diamonds, it is perfect to go with red carpet gowns with a sexy low neckline...

In the store, there were more lovely pearls pieces displayed and we got to check them out as  the ribbon cutting session commenced...

Before Linda left, she also took a few moments to snap pictures with her fans who waited hours for her. I also got to take a picture with her. Guess it pays to be able to speak fluent Cantonese. Hehehehe....
